AFC2 operates in liminal space; angelicaa’s distinctive, incantatory vocal pitch draws atmospheres across First Circle’s production, a world in which hyper-percussive and evocative melodic refrains are built from rung saudade chimes, dragged/soaring strings, and synth glimmers astride frenetic trappy percussion.

Spanning moody, searching melancholia inherent in city living and an off-kilter euphoria, a sense of lightness and space is brought by the more organic sounds and vocal sentiment. The EP touches on the close, hazy atmospherics of Tricky or Portishead and emotive angst a la Cocteau Twins/Shoegaze, delivering a uniquely London sound for the artists’ second collaborative release.

Lux18 (@lux18), Paris-born/based, draws quick and precise for his first outing on Body Motion - presenting an exquisite shard in Right On Time which fuses the edges of post-symphonic, trap, emo, deconstructed club, and hyperpop. Resulting is a sound which is elegiac, unabashed, cheeky, and full in its resonant weight - Right On Time harkens a forthcoming LP for Body Motion, which will land in June. 

Closely tied to Brussels’ underground scene known for its cross-disciplinary approach and unfiltered energy, Lux18’s practice spans DJ sets, live performance, and production; since 2021 he has co-run Todo Recto, his label which focuses on forward-leaning club mutations and experimental/dark ambient. With regular appearances at Kiosk and LYL Radio, Horst, and C12, his debut LP reflects this trajectory—shaped by experimentation, rooted in the club.


Lux18 - Right On Time (BOMO008)

For his debut on Body Motion, Paris-based producer Lux18 pieces together a record shaped by fragments — moments suspended between grief, friendship, hesitation, and fleeting hope. Right On Time draws from the uncertain edges of deconstructed club, post-symphonic, hyperpop, edm and emo — at once vulnerable and sharp, restless and full of weight.

Reflecting on detachment, euphoria, and the strange comfort of uncertainty, the album is about timing, the invisible structure of choices — when to hold on, when to stop, when to disappear. 

The video accompanying the lead single follows this same fragile tension. "The clip was shot in Miami on the night of offset and cardi b's first concert after takeoff's death, on Miami beach, and speaks of friendship and daydreams, of two buddies strolling together in the hope that life will be joyful. The other half of the clip is shot in Spain at formentera, on the island of my birth, a place that soothes and heals."

The album title recalls a line from Jonatan Leander’s Hotel in Minsk:

"Right on time, you were right on time."

A document of pauses and soft collisions. A quiet arrival, right on time.

The signal is strong, send to all. A wordless internal monologue from the perpetually murmuring hippocampus. Never sleeping but never awake, Body Motion traverse the chasms of subconscious and divine the glowing binary for the brief moments between asking and answering, “what time is it”. Industrial churning, distant finger cymbals, sweet synths and the sound of a kettle’s plume.
