FLeX – Archives #01 – Winter Drum & Bass Mood 2022

Have fun with the showcase of my current multi-genre set.
Mixed from UK-Bass over garage to electronic and tech house tunes. The set was recorded on a very special event in a former table dance bar, where we celebrated an Alice in Wonderland party.

Back 2 Techno 
Nachdem ich mich über Jahre hinweg in D&B, breaks und Garage verloren habe, finde ich nun seit Monaten wieder Spaß an den Genres, mit denen alles bei mir begonnen hat. 
Vor nun bald 20 Jahren hab ich über Reason und später Ableton meinen Einstieg in elektronische Musik gefunden und genauso lange sammel ich nun auch schon Tunes in unterschiedlichsten Genres.
Nun ist es an der Zeit diese Liebe zu 120-130 bpm mit euch zu teilen.
So geschehen, mit diesem Set, in der Silvesternacht in der Werki in Leipzig.

In meinem aktuellen Neuro Showcase hauen wir Zeug von Phace, The Caracal Project, Mefjus  einigen anderen bekannten und weniger bekannten Spezialisten in einen Topf und verrühren das ordentlich miteinander.

Are you bored of genres? That same old itz itz itz from left to right in techno. Everyone straight from the gym to the club, just to keep your composure through the night. I can’t do it anymore – I want it to tear me apart.

This can’t go on. I can’t stand these genre parties anymore. I want techno and bass music to warp. So we need to grab our shovels and dig even deeper. Let’s ignore genres. The color of the tunes is all the thread we need. Transitions without ego – Double Drops without manners – Raving without restraint.

And then we’ll play sets that have never been heard like this before. And we’ll do it only once, so it stays beautifully fleeting.

Do you know Martha Nichols’ track Surf Rider staged with CY4 students ?
Great atypical body contortions - everything is so wonderfully avant-garde. Calm and repetitive, but at the same time energetic from deep within the dancers bodies. When travelling to Valencia slowly (via France and Spain), these imersive moves made me search for tunes to carry that spirit further. 
This set is inspired by the Surf-Rider-Mix, some spanish sun, as well as some french waves to make you dream and sway (away)....
