Today we (DLR & Ant) both decided we'd give this one away (only an hour ago in all honesty) as a straight up, no fuss free download.  

"Staring At The Ceiling" was never originally intended for release and was always a roughly mixed track intended for dance floors only (infact along with Noisia we're the only people to ever have the track or play it out to date).  We discussed putting it on the album recently at one point but decided against in the end as (to us) whilst being a great and very effective dance floor geared track we didn't feel it fit into the albums overall vision and theme quite as well as the others that all collectively make up 'Dreamland'.  

We hope you enjoy listening / playing it out as much as we have!

Dispatch Recordings proudly present ‘Dreamland’ – the 2nd solo album from Bristol based DLR.

Continuing where his 2015 debut ‘Seeing Sounds’ left off, ‘Dreamland’ is an album concept that reflects on the world today. Encouraging people to challenge the barriers and comfort zones we blissfully exist within, DLR seeks to resist the inadequate reality we are sleepwalking into; an inherently greed based system, where numbers govern art and culture, whilst popularity determines the success of social causes, as issues are picked up and dropped in the blink of an eye.

Musically, the album is honest, straight up and sound design focused, as DLR pays homage to the older styles of DnB, building on the genre’s core principles, writing his own chapter in Bristol’s long running heritage. A statement of intent towards soul and groove driven music, each track is personified by simple ideas meticulously arranged, as DLR prioritises the raw elements to enhance the groove and sub bass, allowing each aspect enough space to breathe and develop.

Newcomers A&P, aka Aboriginal & Phonic, explode onto the scene with their debut Expanse EP, out this spring on Lifestyle Music.

This EP sees the young London lads serve up four slices of sophisticated steppers, with a sound mature and refined for producers so new to the game. Long-time mates, Kish and Sean have (unbelievably) only been producing drum & bass for a year together, but the sounds speak for themselves, and are sure to bolster arsenals and destroy dancefloors with immediate effect.

Nestled at the end of the EP is a four-way collab between A+P and two other up and coming producers making big waves themselves, Klinical and Objectiv. The result is colossal, nothing less than expected from the future of UK drum and bass all on one tune!

Let's talk physics... what is the particle representing a quantum of light or other electromagnetic radiation?  

"Photon" - is the newly formed Portuguese drum and bass duo devised by Dosk and Pysk. Formerly known in the scene as Dogz United, these 2 friends from Porto in the north of Portugal have been making speakers shake to the sound of Drum and Bass since 2007 and have now dipped the heads into the world of production with some interesting results.

Drawing from many inspirations they have crafted a awesome hard-hitting yet vibey two track as their debut. It's funky, it's deep, it's rollin' and we are very proud to bring some more light to these two talented Portuguese producers. 

Make sure you show 'em some love on their socials, get following and remember the name "Photon" as it's surely not the last you will be hearing from this talented pair.

Over the last few months we have been secretly working away building a new label - a label that will dive deeper into the harder more experimental side of drum and bass, yet still maintain it's grass roots.

The label was initially due to launch earlier this month with its first single, however in light of current events we decided to curtail that idea and launch with an amazing free giveaway instead,  just for you! This is a little sample of the kind of sound you can expect from our new label.
