Goofy is basically a skin walker or a shape shifter. In this canon Mickey had no friends and hadn’t found his people yet. So the monster also wanting a friend posed as goofy. And made a friend. Mickey Mouse. The monster was never evil just misunderstood. But when Mickey found his people. Minnie, Donald, daisy, Pluto, Oswald, Pete, and all the rest. The monster being so addicted to Mickey Mouse wanted him all for himself like a previous comment states. So he killed them off. Though Oswald is alive.
