Hitting the scene hard in 2016 with his debut 4-tracker for Rotterdam’s Common Thread Records, Identified Patient’s sonic personality was born through downtempo saturation, club/wave fusion, and fuzzy acid. It comes as no surprise that his influences reach as far and wide as they do; Identified Patient is one of the rare artists whose sound can be recognised immediately, leading him to being very highly in-demand on the international market.

Identified Patient has the digging and aesthetic qualities of an artist’s artist while maintaining an understanding of music that makes him a hit even among newcomers to our music, and with a career that blasts through every coming year, we are proud to host him as our final artist on VOLTAGE Podcast.

Far the third edition of Cuddles with.. we welcome @agua_fk 💕

Agua con gas’ playful and seductive sets take you on a groovy and steamy journey on the dancefloor. The Berlin-based artist draws his inspiration from the sounds of the '90s trance, house, tribal rhythms and electro. Although he doesn’t stick to one genre, he is mastering the storytelling from beginning to end with consistency and flow.

Agua’s passion for electronic music first sparked when he began to collect records in 2018. He’s shown the depth of his versatile taste with mixes for shows at community radios like THF Radio, Mutant Radio Tbilisi, Radio80k, Root Radio and Refuge Worldwide. Over the past few years, you could find him playing at various clubs in Berlin, other cities in Germany, Switzerland and recently debuting in South Africa at the Smalltown Beat Festival.

Where to begin with this one? Don't say that we aren't good to you...

Surgeon & Speedy J need no introduction. However, you might not have heard of their recent collaborative project called Multiples which they are using to work together on live improvised jams. It's a chance for them to embrace the diy aesthetic once more, bouncing ideas off one another and recording the results.

The first record from the pair is called 'Two Hours Or Something'. An aptly titled release which lends a nod to the chaos and approach in the studio.

We received this mix not long off the back of being sent the record and it doesn't disappoint. It weaves and wanders between elements of IDM before emerging into the realms of Techno. The proper stuff - no hype, no pop edits. Pure Techno as it was meant to be.

One of New York’s finest in the mix.

Fred P has been holding it down for the Big Apple’s house scene for over a decade, originally under the name Black Jazz Consortium but also as Fred P and a series of other aliases (among them Anomaly and FP197). Early press around Fred tied him in with a revival of sorts in the New York house community, but although there’s clear links – both musically and personally – to the likes of Jus Ed and DJ Qu, there’s a subtle virtuosity and eccentricity to Fred’s records that makes him his own man, even at their most simple. It’s telling that he’s not content to release singles: between Fred P and Black Jazz Consortium he’s released five albums since 2007, most recently working with Tokyo label Mule Musiq on his fifth, simply titled 5.

Fred’s FACT mix was recorded at Berlin’s Dark Flow studios. “I used two Technics 1200s and one CDJ for the last track, and a Pioneer mixer and effects module,” he tells us. “There was no method really, just weeks of pulling records to find the right ones that capture a particular vibe. I hope everyone enjoys this mix as much as I enjoyed putting it together. It’s not perfect but it’s perfect in its imperfection thus making it timeless. Peace, love and respect.”
