Fuga Ronto's second release Greatest Treasure is a musical journey exploring different kinds of territories by blending elements of synth funk, dub, fusion, new wave and ambient with household noises, reverb vocals and quotes from movies to adventure games. Out of playful recording sessions the Zurich duo Schweizer and Shiller created songs with track names that read like movie titles. The treasure quest begins with a tongue-in-cheek intro before the title track kicks in. It’s all about exotic boogie with adventurous lyrics and voodoo magic. The rhythm guitar, percussion and multilingual chanting driven single „Falling Star“, lures even unathletic feet onto the dancefloor. "Columbo De Domingo“, a rolling instrumental based on a four chord sequence creates an illusional staircase moment. The tracks on the B-side guide towards slower and dreamier attempts. "Mirror To Water" builds on swaying synth pads that lead up to a laid-back song with breathy male and female vocals over a shuffling drum beat. It’s epilogue "Wobble In The Pool" sticks to the mood and takes the sounds further into dubby lands. The closing chapter "Mystery Of Zambio" is a delightful two- parter. Nostalgic melodies take the lead at first to be replaced by chords and a choir in the second part, until they dance away into the fade-out. Maybe a hint for a continuation of the story? One would hope so.

A year on from his effortlessly escapist Senza Estate album on Hell yeah, My Friend Dario's 'Tellaro' from 2023 gets a digital rerelease next to a standout SIRS remix.

Dario is a core part of the neo-Balearic world with his blend of downbeat, disco, acid and breakbeat. 'Tellaro' very much embodies that with a late-night twist. It has deep, propulsive drums, expansive soft acid lines and twinkling keys, all making for smooth, romantic dance floor hypnosis

Sirsounds Records label head SIRS was last here with a remix of Aura Safari and is in top form again. He flips 'Tellaro' into something with dubby low ends and more psychedelic leads for freaky broken beat fun. 

My Friend Dario - Tellaro (SIRS Remix)

Early works of psychotic surge in collaboration with * From Hawai'i. This work is heavily based in translating the concrete poetry of the @bombooksurge (Instagram) to the sonic realm. There is the intrusion of a tarot reading in most if not all of the tracks, take it as you may. Their meaning is up for interpretation. 

As an early-experiment in anti-music with a studied musician, the poetry structure that refuses to fit the recognizable musical constructions is responsible for that feeling of awkwardness while still following a non-metric, non-rhymed flow of actualization.

PREMIERE: Bogdan Ra - Two O'Clock [Lada Recordings]

Winner of a song contest run by a German underwear and bathing suit company in 1984. The prize was the production of a song with professional musicians - namely this very song. Judging by her rapping skills, the competition must have been a little on the weak side of things... 😆 It needed some seriously cheesy Schlager bits removed and more of the electronic good stuff. Enjoy!
