This month will see Ryan Lee West aka Rival Consoles debut his new live set, restricting himself to a small selection of analogue equipment such as the Moog Voyager, Prophet and tape delay, as he supports Luke Abbott on his UK tour.

In celebration, Rival Consoles offers his fans a free download of the title track 'Odyssey' – a reflection of his quest to create atmosphere and space from minimal arrangements. His new EP also features label friend Peter Broderick and is available now on Erased Tapes.

hailing from lisbon, portugal, syntagma developed some thoughts regarding society, politics, globalization and the impact of economics in the human experience. they gathered some spoken word by several intellectuals such as john cage, alan moore, terence mckenna and eduardo galeano. even though this ep rides along something like mindful soundscapes, deep minimal techno and trippy deep house, syntagma hopes that the listener will think about subjects that are not a common focus of modern dance music -- hence offering a deeper side to the genre. you also get a mesmerizing remix courtesy of doubtingthomas, who hails from london, uk, but was born in france. so go on, let it all sink in, and flow with the groove.

ARTISTIC CITY TRIPS
storytelling + soundscape in the city space

The source of inspiration for Artistic City Trips project was the city, its narrations & soundscape.
While one is walking through the assigned path and listening to the story, s/he may discover the unknown & inherently psychoactive face of the city that allows to erase the border between truth and illusion, to stimulate the senses and alter the consciousness.
In ACT the voice is given to the city peripheries and the urban underdog mythology. The alternative histories are called upon.

This project was made for Krakow Theatrical Reminiscenes Festival. Text became alive during Visegrad Literary Residency at Villa Decius in Kraków.

"An Album Leaf" was composed for me in 2002. Premiered at the Warsaw Autumn Festival in the saame year.

2015 will see German techno mainstay Stephan Bodzin ready to unleash his next full-length musical vision on the world. Entitled “Powers of Ten”, the 10-track album will land in June 2015 on his own Herzblut Recordings and provides another great insight into the melodically rich muscle mind of this modern great.
Says Stephan Bodzin of the LP: “Powers of Ten has been with me all my life and is named after a book that has been my background hiss, its confusing truth is my only real faith and its infinity shows me its finiteness. The album is about harmonies, melodies, rhythms. It is an homage to Bob Moog, full of techno beats and sounds and space and party and ecstasy and dancing and listening, and crying and feeling. It is a journey, a philosophy of life, a view of the world, a vague perception. It is my wife, my children, my family, my friends, my passion, my enemy, my greatest fulfillment, my fear, my deepest peace, my power, all my love.”
As such, this album is hugely personal and is filled with cerebral messages and well thought out concepts. All this shines through and makes it an all the more engaging listen from start to finish. Kicking off with the spine tingling chords and louche beats of ‘Singularity’ cuts like ‘Lila’ then continue to confirm that Stephan Bodzin has a classical understanding of melody that is way beyond your average.
‘Blue Giant’, ‘Wir’ and ‘Ix’ all manage to be uplifting and thoughtful at the same time as driven and groovy, whilst ‘Birth’ comes on with a hymnal high note, long tailed pads and subtly shifting beats. The ghostly grooves of ‘Zulu’ mark a majestic mid point to the album, which then continues to seduce with spiritual synths and more beautiful melodies on cuts like ‘Odyssee’ as well as the album’s standout title track.
Unfolding coherently and in soothing fashion, this album once again proves that few producers in the modern world have a knack for melody and an ear for sonic ingenuity quite like Stephan Bodzin.


Singularity

2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

This piece premiered at a concert called "RECOMPOSED", which analyzed a concept of teachers & students, influences, process of learning.

Taigi, kaip kompozitorė pajutau įkvėpimą sukurti geriausių dainų ir kūrinių miksą, kuriuos įkvėpia mane, kurios sukūrė mane, kurios yra dalis mano istorijos. Sąvoką mokytojas supratau savaip – noriu pagroti kūrybą žmonių, kurie buvo mano mokytojais, kurie yra mano mokytojais, įkvėpimo šaltinių ar reikšmingų gyvenimo įvykių muziką, nes būtent tai „sukuria mus“. Nesvarbu, kad kai kurie jų labai juokingi, bet... pabandom. (groja Alice Deejay - Better off alone). Ir pagalvojau, kad galėčiau šiuos kūrinius pakomentuoti. Ši daina grojo kiekvieno paauglio, gimusio 90-aisiais, diskotekose. Pirmi bučiniai, pirmi šokiai. (groja Альянс - На заре). Ši daina man taip pat labai svarbi, nes esu rusų kilmės. Vaikinas dainuoja, kad kažkas šaukia jį...aušroje. (groja Erik Satie-Gymnopedie). Labai mėgstu fortepijoną. Grojau juo nuo 6 metų, groju ir dabar. Man patinka, kaip ši muzika fone pakeičia mano balsą emociją, atmosferą, nuotaiką, remiksuoja viską. Taip tylu, kad įraše net girdimas mano šuo. Jis guli ant lovos ir žaidžia. L'amour (ambient mix)

“Between You and We” is made up of three parts of a 41 minute piece.
Each piece is a stand alone piece but works even better heard one after the other.

The music is freely improvised in a free melodic form that I call Modern Modal Music.
It means that I use melodies and variations on them using a basic reference tone.
The melodies work to push and pull from the basic bass tone all the while taking advantage of the unique sound quality that the mosesa offers as filtered through electronic pedals amplified through a bass amp. Micro tones, overtones, scrapes, knocks, …any sound quality is welcomed in Modern Modal Music as long as it supports the expression of the melodies.
