Boiled Wonderland Records kicks off 2022 with a new compilation of deep club and warehouse music from the depths of Bangkok. Following on from the successes of Chalo’s - Lucid (w/Remotif Remix), the eight track EP presents a mix of newcomers and respected Thai techno stalwarts alike. Featuring tracks from artists like Dott and Sarayu the EP is an engaging set of work aimed at capturing the heart of the Bangkok dancefloor. 

Cognition uses a palette of techno cues that leans on various bases within the electronic spectrum. The EP ranges from lead track Sarayu’s ‘Burnt Out’, which welcomes listeners with warm synths and down tempo breaks, to Matu’s ‘00100’ at track six showing techno in its truest form; ripping up the tempo at 141bpm Matu brings thumping kicks split with sharp flanged FX stabs to dramatic effect. 

All eight tracks together take the listener on a journey through waving synapses and late night adventures before climaxing in Ahivars’ ‘Opal’ a euphoric transcendent floor filler.

“Cognition represents some of the most engaged and dynamic artists within the Thai music scene right now. We wanted to start 2022 with an EP that shines a spotlight on artists really engaging with dance music in Thailand and developing new club sounds from the heart of Bangkok.”

With more releases already lined up throughout 2022 for Boiled Wonderland Records, with many of the artists on the EP, Cognition presents a crafted selection of quality sounds and marks all of the artist's places in an increasingly spirited and imaginative Thai techno scene.

Sometimes there are moments and sets in London clubland where the stars align, certain artists are in the building and the energy is LOOSE.

Skee Mask at the HVYWGHT 4th Birthday back in February was one of those moments.

Following on from a South London Digital Mystikz homecoming at peak time to a fever pitch Brixton Electric. Playing a dubstep party for the first time, alongside legends of the scene - Skee Mask proceeded to play one of the hardest sets we’ve ever seen, effortlessly mixing classic grime into dubstep into techno into breaks and beyond.

A flurry of MC’s were in the wings, none of whom were booked to host the set but had no choice but to jump on. The energy was infectious - Flowdan B2B Trim B2B Chunky B2B SP:MC over Skee Mask on the Sinai Soundsystem. We can guarantee you will never get this combination of artists on a set EVER again.

Fresh from DOTT’s “Puppy Luv EP” and Rudoh’s “Vinland In Space EP”, Jugaar Records is back and this time with a full-length, double-pack vinyl, and digital compilation bringing together friends from Asia and Europe.
