An EP packed with slicing hats and dynamic basslines, Sense of Tension is a perfect collection of dancefloor grooves from Thai producer DOTT and his next EP for Boiled Wonderland.
Opening track ‘Sense of Tension’ combines moody basslines with floaty driven chords whilst flaring hi-hats cut seamlessly throughout. The title track molds between minor dreamy chords and high cut synths creating a divine level of contrast which sets any dancer's pulse raising. On A2 ‘Among the Lines’ sees DOTT take the tempo down a pitch, bringing a cerebral quality to his music as detuned synths float alongside driven claps and tranquil vocal samples. On the flip side DOTT opens with ‘Detuning Your Mind’, adding a minimal influence to the music with complex driven kick patterns and dynamic jazz samples wash throughout. B2 brings in Boulderhead, a Bristol based producer who adds a funky flip to ‘Detuning Your Mind’. Boulderhead who has a string of well received releases on labels such as Craigie Knowes and Rhythm Section holds nothing back on the remix - delivering a grooving base and euphoric set of synth lines to the track, sure to make any dancefloor move.

There were patterns everywhere, every crack in the sidewalk was part of something far bigger if he could only grasp it. Among the lines there were lessons to be learnt, lessons as to how the world around him worked and where it could be pulled apart. 

Walking the streets of the busy city he couldn’t help but look around at all the faceless beings, their empty stories and chaotic ambitions. They’d all come here to live the dream and reach their goals amidst the bright lights of the skyscrapers and late night diners. Who knew whether they might make it out the other side…

DOTT is the founder of pioneering record store and label More Rice based in Bangkok. He has helped breathe life into the progressive underground dance and electronic music community in the city and beyond. His new EP on Boiled Wonderland – a deep moving, dubbed out release which is reminiscent of old school Garage, UK Bass inspired influences and beyond..
