SOLIDARITY with UNIST’OT’EN is a fundraiser compilation of electronic artists in the occupied Indigenous territory that constitute the island of Tiohtià:ke (Montreal, Canada) who stand in support of the Wet’suwet’en Nation in their fight against Coastal GasLink’s campaing to build a pipeline through unceded traditional territory.

The intent is both to raise funds and awareness to the ongoing situation in the Wet’suwet’en Nation and Unist'ot'en Camp. 100% of proceeds raised from the compilation will go to the Unist’ot’en Legal Fund.

Vector Fields Vol. 3 is the most recent compilation in an ongoing series from Australian label Music Company.
 
The release features works in the realms of ambient, experimental, sound art, electronic and contemporary classical music and aims to showcase local artists as well as givie back to the broader community.
 
The compilation will see 100% of proceeds donated to Firesticks, an Indigenous led network that works to re-invigorate the use of cultural burning by facilitating cultural learning pathways to fire and land management.

RDL Shellah (the artist formerly known as RDL) follows up the long sold out pop-grade 2021 Streets 7” produced by Mexico’s riddim queen Smurphy with a full Showcase EP featuring Canadian collective Seekersinternational (SKRS) on the buttons once again.

Lead single ‘Bad Wine’ is pure silky-tongued summer heater with a dusty boom-bap soul like a Jamaican take on Anderson Paak and Knxwledge; while the video tells a classic ‘where is my boyfriend’ story that’s as old as time. RDL Shellah has been part of I Jahbar’s Roolingz Musik collective, recording under the name Providence and guesting on tracks like ‘Rock the Party’ before joining him in Duppy Gun operations. The Showcase EP marks his first big artistic statement as a solo vocalist before he embarks on another collaborative EP in 2022 with I Jahbar sharing vocal duties (also produced by Seekersinternational).

Cos goth is just dub for people without enough vitamin D…..

The first release on Bokeh’s goth/industrio-horror sister label BKV Cadavre rises from cvlt Glasgow band VOM. Before now, they were already the best and most original zero-nostalgia goth band in Scotland since Twisted Nerve - as heard on 2013’s perfect Altered States LP.

But anyone lucky enough to witness their live workouts or the few tracks on At War With False Noise’s 2020 comp Votive Offerings know there’s a different trio lurking. Entity Attachment is the first album in this long evolution: 6 tracks of macabre steppas and dread-drenched drum tracks for paranoid late night DMT trippers and folk-horror-scifi soundtracks. Spaces between drum machine hits fill with billowing noise, vocals are now stripped back to distant yelps bouncing off stone walls, bass brought to the fore in dub-grade workouts.

To understand what’s aligning here: there’s snatches of vampiric Bauhaus dubpunk buried between touches of industrial darkwave acts like Black Funeral, Murderous Vision and Controlled Bleeding surgically grafted onto the new breed of dread n bass like our pal Ossia (check the closer Goetic Ritual for most proof).
