The end of 2023 marks 15 years of Lunar Disko Records, but it's also the end of LDR as a label. 

We are delighted to present esteemed electro producer Annie Hall as our final release on Lunar Disko Records. 

The Spanish producer continues her electronic explorations on the four track EP 'Ultra Dynamic Information'. Another alluring addition to an already impressive back catalogue of Annie Hall releases.

During summer of 2023 we got the idea to unite norwegian and georgian producers to a compilation for the further enhancing of our nations bond. Rather than just asking for tracks, we sent out an invitation commisioning everyone involved to make a smooth track. As per usual on LEK, there were no limitations in terms of genre, but the track had to be somewhat relevant to the floor.

The total variety of different expressions far exceeded our expectations, and we are proud to present this compilation ranging all the way from deep dubby downtempo, party house, electro in many forms, and multi-crossovers.

‘WAR1209’ finds Ukrainian artist shjva inducing trance states across an album equal parts tripped-out and dubby. Spanning brooding lysergic visions and locked-in dance floor hypnosis, expect drowsily impressionistic soundscapes and darkly cinematic gear across the 9-track duration. Total sonic immersion for the oddballs and the freaks.
 
Terraforming uncharted alien terrain, tracks like ‘X-Side’ and ‘Upper Limit’ descend into sprawling, widescreen exploration. Fathomless landscapes serving as vessels for deep introspection. ‘Enigmatic’, on the other hand, opts for detail and precision-tooled dynamics while retaining that same wide-eyed sense of wonder. Where ‘Dragonfly’ offers fractal fuel for ceremony and ritual, ‘Cloudhopping’ and ‘Psy-Fi Alien Dub’ wade knee-deep through some dub techno murk. Saving the direct and tunnelling for last, 'Banshee' and 'Chrysalis' are like two sides of the same proggy coin; one ominous, the other more optimistic and utopian.

For Animalia’s 11th release, Animalia welcomes Ukrainian producer Volodymyr Gnatenko (@gnatenko) with his EP AbiaA. 

Known for his progressive, trance-tinged releases and live sets, AabiA builds on Gnatenko’s lush soundscaping with five new tracks, including a remix of fellow Ukrainian producer Shjva’s Usu and an additional digital sixth bonus track with Ilya Semaskevich. Deep, atmospheric and emotional, the EP spans dreamy synth lines meshed with breaks, both rolling and downtempo. I first encountered Volodymyr’s sound at a party in Berlin last April, where he played a transformative live set that stayed with me long after. AbiaA perfectly reflects what resonated with me then and still - the entrancing and immersive world he conceives is a rare skill in electronic music, but one I endlessly seek.

Animalia would like to acknowledge that whilst all tracks were produced in Europe, the label itself operates on the traditional land of the Woiwurrung & Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay respect to their elders past, and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.
