“It was in deepest darkest Somerset, south west England, sometime in the early 90's when Big Nick D first encountered dance music. Ten foot high speaker stacks, muddy fields and purple ohms. Groove, bass and positivity. A good time being had by all. Nick had to get involved. Fast forward more than twenty years and these positive things remain the cornerstones of Nick's DJ sets. Since the heady days of Somerset, Nick has worked among many aspects of dance music, from independent record shops & Virgin Megastores to nightclubs including fabric and The End. A stint at a vinyl distribution company while running his own record label opened Nick's eyes not only to the business end of the music spectrum, but new genres, techniques and people. From low key minimal grooves to tight techy house, via wonky techno and future disco, Nick's scope can be far and wide. He's had guest slots on radio stations including Ministry of Sound Radio, Hoxton FM, Brap FM, Better Days FM and more. Nick currently hosts the monthly Bank Of Switches Show on Aaja Music & has recently had mixes published by Communique, Somersault in New York & Holland's Stookcast. Nick currently holds a residency at Bank Of Switches and is a regular guest at parties such as Minimal Force, Audio Rehab and Route One, so he can be found playing tunes at venues like Shelter, Cafe 1001, Werkhaus, Last Days Of Shoreditch, The Jago, Near & Far Bar, The Souls & of course Aaja Deptford.”

A varied listener of dance music for over two decades, Jason Kendig (soundcloud) grew up in Detroit, engrossed in the music being played on the radio in the 90s. Later, he quickly climbed ranks as a DJ there holding residencies at clubs like Motor before moving to San Francisco. After many years soaking up the west coast's vibes a recent transition back to the midwest has found him in Chicago where he was invited to become a resident of the esteemed Smart Bar. While racking up airline miles playing around the world at festivals and intimate club nights alike, Jason is still a key member of the San Francisco collective known as Honey Soundsystem. Including members Jacob Sperber aka Jackie House, Josh Cheon and Robert Yang aka Bezier, the crew has been bringing creativity to SF’s gay underground house and techno community for the past ten years by not only curating their own club nights but publishing music with their label HNYTRX. This month Bolting Bits invites Mr. Kendig to the decks for the continuation of our MIXED BY series.

Rhythm Section founder, NTS Radio host and Peckham-based tastemaker extraordinaire Bradley Zero is a UK digger and DJ almost without equal. His Rhythm Section has fast become one of London’s finest soirées, before expanding into a label in 2014, putting out modern classic EPs from the Oval Space favourites such as Al Dobson Jr, Henry Wu and Chaos In The CBD.

Bradley Zero's OSM Live 005 is snipped from a special Friday night at The Pickle Factory last March. Bradley, fellow talented Londoner Dan Shake, and our own Jett tore the wooden-beamed roof off Pickle all night long. As can be heard above, Bradley was on flying form, mixing house, disco, and everything else fast and furiously. Play it loud.
