Already well established with a string of chart successes to his name, Kenny Beeper certainly isn’t new to the label. Here though he is joined by fellow Australian SwinINC who together have smashed shows with some of the scene's biggest names including Opiuo and Krafty Kuts.

The vibrant electronic flavours of ‘Do It Like This’ hit hard, with the bass-heavy instrumentation being driven along perfectly by Everyman’s rawkus flow, combining Hip Hop elements with guitars, synth, and driving percussion which makes for a perfect blend to trouble sound systems.

'Freed From Desire' is Nat Tate's cover of a dance anthem featuring Waldo's Gift and Yolanda Quartey (AKA Yola, fresh from playing Sister Rosetta in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis movie), reworked into future funk classic by Boca 45. Guitar riffs and rolling beats dance alongside one hell of a vocal performance from Yolanda. Delivering an interpretation with such gravitas that it feels like it could actually be the original.

The label welcome funk maestro Ali B back to the label and this time he is alongside hip hop royalty in the form of Baby Bam (Jungle Brothers). No strangers to working together, the two have already entered national charts and picked up playlists at BBC 6 music with previous musical collaborations. With a career spanning over 2 decades in music, Ali was one of the first and longest standing residents at legendary club Fabric, in addition to hosting radio shows on Capital and Kiss. Equally, Bam's legacy spans back to the 1980s as a founding member of the hip hop defining Jungle Brothers. He has also worked alongside luminaries such as De La Soul and Tribe Called Quest during a much lauded career.

Two tracks that shouldn't work together on an ep, but full credit the duo's incredible musical ability, and production skills for merging these two sounds together so perfectly. After the original mix gaining much love and support right across the board including plays on BBC 6 music, this remix is a welcome addition to the 'Boogie' package. Rising Star of the scene WBBL adds his unique style of Bass and Funk into the melting pot with his take of the already classic Shaka Loves You track. WBBL instantly transforms this into a festival ready battle weapon for the summer, adding his insanely high-level production and a good dose of bass to Fullee Love's (aka Soup from Jurassic 5) smooth vocals. The remix was something of a passion project for WBBL. After hearing and loving the original mix from the Shaka guys, he approached them directly asking for the parts, so he could make his own interpretation as an exclusive version for his sets, but now you can your hands on this tried and tested cut!

X-Ray Ted continues to show why he is rising so fast, with each release building on his talent for delivering knockout grooves. This could quite possibly be his strongest release to date with Bombstrikes. 'Mirror Ballin' kicks things off on a disco groove with driving beats pushing the bass along seamlessly that cements this tracks place as dance floor gold. Next up, 'Get Into It' slows the pace down a little but still delivers just as much punch with funk hooks and clever vocal work. Rounding the pack off nicely is 'Never Gonna Let 'Em Say' with its breakbeats, guitar hooks and deep bass drops to ensure that the track hits where it is supposed to.

We love this EP and cannot wait to hear more from the Bristol based producer.

What a twelve months it has been for him, picking up major support, and nearly half a million streams, for his last release,and continuing to assert his party rocking credentials by earning himself a place in the Red Bull 3style finals! 'On the Floor' kicks things off with a hook laden groove, perfectly finding a home in a sweet spot between funk, disco and B-Boy breaks. Over on the flip 'Chopsy's New Groove' slows things a little but maintains a relentless dancefloor focus, blending hooks, beats and sax lines along the way. Another solid release to add to the ever-expanding catalogue from X-Ray Ted, who continues to impress. The Funk is firing hot on this one!

Founded in 2004, the simple principal was delivering the funk with engaging music that always rocks the dance floors, regardless of genre. Started by two of the label's key artists, Mooqee & Beatvandals, each release had to be a bomb! This ethos continued throughout the initial vinyl based volume series and as the label evolved alongside the changing digital landscape, helping to develop a global funk and mid tempo scene along the way.

It's crazy to think how much the label has grown and now works with artists and partners from around the globe. Alongside individual artist releases Bombstrike is also home to the much loved Funk n' Beats, Disco Funkin' and Bass Funk compilation series, with guest curators helping the listener discover new music or unearth forgotten classics.

 

We continue to push things forward with everything we do, whether it is releases, festival stages or club nights....We always do it with our same founding ideals and will continue to do what we do best. Watch this space.
