A new 2021 Remix of 2015 CD Space Dances.
A selection of some leftover experiments using purchased loops and samples . Also some conventional tracks as well as some music that didn't fit into previous concepts and abandoned projects.
Some of this later appeared in the live events I did in church venues in 2018 and 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of of the landing on the Moon.

Church bells across the UK rang out on the eve of the COP26 climate conference on the 31st October 2021.
This soundscape re-imagines that tradition of bell ringing in a modern urban context. The piece is created entirely from samples of bells ranging from tiny finger bells up to recordings of large cathedral and church bells.

Apollo 11 - Part Two - Touchdown The Eagle Has Landed (1969)

This track is dedicated to the crew of Apollo 1 Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee.

Apollo 1, was the first crewed mission of the United States Apollo program with the objective to land the first man on the Moon. It was planned to launch on February 21, 1967. The mission never flew; a cabin fire during a launch rehearsal test killed all three crew members Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee—and destroyed the command module.

This tracks contains sample from NASA recordings of interviews with the astronauts. As well as communications with the crew right up to the point of the fire along with subsequent NASA and other press and media reactions. Also samples taken from the memorial ceremony.

Apollo 1 Disaster (1967)

Project Mercury was the first human spaceflight program of the United States. Its goal was to put a man into Earth orbit and return him safely to earth, ideally before the Soviet Union. It made 6 successful manned flights. The astronauts were collectively known as the "Mercury Seven".
Sample on this track include excerpts from early NASA press conferences and Florida birdsong representing their leaving and returning to earth .

Mercury (1961 - 63)

Vanguard was a program managed by the United States Naval Research Laboratory which intended to launch the first artificial satellite into Earth orbit using a Vanguard rocket. In response to the launch of Sputnik 1 on October 4, 1957. Before work was completed, however, the Soviet Union launched a second satellite, Sputnik 2, on November 3, 1957. Meanwhile, the spectacular televised failure of Vanguard TV3 on December 6, 1957, deepened American dismay over the country's position in the Space Race.

Vanguard (1957 - 59)

Sputnik was the first artificial Earth satellite. It was launched into an elliptical low Earth orbit by the USSR on 4 October 1957. It orbited for three weeks before its batteries ran out. The satellite then silently continued to orbit the planet for two months before it fell back into the atmosphere on 4 January 1958.
Includes in this track is the original Sputnik radio signal recorded by Jodrell Bank Observatory Cheshire England.

A 80 minute electronic journey telling the story of the race to the Moon.

Commencing with the 1961 announcement of John F Kennedy's goal to put a man on the moon within the next decade. To the completion of that amazing journey by the NASA and the crew of Apollo 11 in 1969.
This project as well as focusing on the amazing scientific achievement of the all involved in this epic undertaking but also focuses on the spiritual experience of many of the astronauts involved.
In December 2018 I presented a special evening in the amazing space of St Annes Baptist Church in Lancashire. This was a special event to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 1st lunar orbit.
Then in July 2019 I presented a second evening to mark the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
Both events used 100's of samples of recently released NASA recordings which had been placed in the public domain by NASA to celebrate these landmark events.
These live events placed these recordings within my own electronic music and soundscapes and was accompanied by contemporary Christian worship music and samples using the Ising worship software .
I have now remastered these recording used from those two 120 minute concerts/events into 80 minutes of original music. I have also kept and used the public domain NASA and news media material when creating this single CD version.
All electronic samples used are either my own manipulated found sounds or field recordings, alongside loops purchased from the Loopmasters catalogue.

The Dream (Introduction)

My most cinematic track to date. Very far removed from my usual minimalist fare. I have taken a 25 second loop and created a 75s sample to which I then applied a slow burn version of very famous 1970's classic rock chord progression 9 time. See if you can spot what it is.

Space Dances

Minimalist ambient composer and sound artist using found sounds and electronic loops, patterns and washes. 
As young teenager in the mid 1970's and inspired by the like of Delia Derbyshire and early BBC Radiophonic workshop material as well as pre 1975 Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk. I was later impacted by Stockhausen and John Cage. As a "non-musician" Throughout this period I experimented with reel to reel tape loops, audio news-reel recordings and I also utilized various household items alongside field recordings and "found sounds" . A gradual loss of interest in popular music led me to give up listening too almost all forms of popular music for almost 25 years. During this period I only encountered music on a meaningful level in the context of worship. My current work (2013-present) is unable to benefit from influences from this missing era, but have been re-inspired to pick up were I left off with the addition of elements and ideas taken from minimalist and modern classical music artists like Avro Part, Steve Reich and Phillip Glass.
Most of my current work 2020 onwards is primarily used as background music and sound design for my Podcasts and occasionally for creating one off  themed Soundscapes, which I hope people find helpful as a background to prayer, meditation or spiritual inspiration.
