The latest instalment in the successful Disco-House-Edit imprint „Black Jukebox”, run Exploited label boss Shir Khan, features 4 heavy vinyl jams. The first two come from the hands of Exploited's very own Mickey, one from the Mekanism and the fourth track is accredited to Matpat. 

Shir Khan has made sure that this 9th edition in his sublabel is as powerful as those that came before it. The cut consists of cutting edge material by all three artists, with Mickey kicking the record of with two undeniably funky productions: 'Holding Hands' and 'LA Anyway'. This time, with a perfect EP for those who enjoy their dose of soul and funky rhythms. Making their OFF debut, Ben and Lennart, a duo hailing from northern Germany better known as Artenviefalt who have already built a reputation with releases on Stil Vor Talent or Light My Fire, provide us with all the right ingredients to make a crowd go wild.

"How We Chill" shows all their sampling skills in full effect, creating a laid back house anthem with a strong soul/hip hop influence and a lovely balearic vocal. A track with many magical moments that hit all the right keys.

"Long Beach" is the second track in the package, another laid back, funky number with a great rolling bassline, tasteful percussion and guitar licks. Incredible vibes all around, be it a rooftop, pool or boat party, this are indeed the perfect tools to make those unforgettable summer nights last forever.

Six months after their last installment, Shir Khan and Exploited drop another hot to trot collection of disco edits. As usual, there's much to excite, beginning with the familiar guitar solos, Rhodes keys and dub disco pulse of Antilope's "Singing Ghost" rework. Death On The Balcony keep up the reverb and delay-laden dub disco theme on "Addict For Your Love", whose rubbery groove, twinkling pianos and heady vocals have been expertly rearranged to fit house dancefloors. Finally, Matpat go loop crazy on the thumping disco house cut "Only You" which sits somewhere between Rahaan and Soundstream. Excellent stuff all round.

Jiggler’s first offering of the year comes in the form of two original mood setters and Kellerkind on duty for a remix of the title track. “Illusions” kicks off with an ascending groove, layering up arpeggiated synths and subtle vocal cuts. Relentless bass and a steady pace create a solid progression, upholding dancefloor tension even after the breakdown. Bringing the vocals forward as the focal point, Kellerkind morphs the track into a heavy progressive exploration. Led by a gloomy, wobbling bass and mechanised cuts, we’re treated to a more spacious and playful take on the initial arrangement. “Wanting” stays true to its name, revealing an anticipation-building percussion dotted with clangs that give way to a rolling house bassline. Mainz rooted duo Matchy and Bott serve up three dancefloor heaters for their “Battle Boii” EP.
A traveling bassline opens up the eponymous track, while dramatic synth leads slowly unfold into a dreamy, laid back melody. The ascending groove is slow paced yet intricate, constructing a perfect setting for subtle transitions. On the other side of the melodic spectrum, Ocean surprises with a juxtaposition of gloom and wandering indie vocals. Playful harmonic keys alternate dark synths, forming a looming, ever-approaching backdrop that’s a perfect tension builder. Enrolled for the remix, Lars Moston injects more bass into Ocean’s already high-strung framework.
