Der Berliner DJ und Produzent Gunnar Stiller durfte die neueste Ausgabe der Compilationreihe “Diary”, die vom Label Upon.You ins Leben gerufen wurde, zusammenstellen. Damit folgt Stiller auf das Duo The Cheapers, die für Nummer drei zuständig waren. Auf der Compilation, die in zwei Parts aufgesplittet ist, vereint der Berliner 24 Tracks, die von Freunden des Labels, ausgesuchten Neulingen und Upon.You-Acts stammen. Der erste Teil der Compilation erschien am vergangenen Montag, den 27. Oktober 2014. Die zweite Ausgabe soll am 17. November 2014 folgen.

Einzelkind - Finding Love


Oliver Huntemann's beloved globetrotting mix series PLAY! is set to touch down for its highly- anticipated fifth edition in Vienna. Having journeyed through four of the world's best nightclubs on four continents, PLAY! 05 is the most recent glimpse into Oliver's DJ mindset: the tracks he's playing, the stories he's telling, the journey he is undertaking, and the ever important relationship he has with the dancefloor.
The PLAY! series has provided Oliver Huntemann a unique platform – allowing him to showcase the tight, nuanced techno and tech-house that he’s pioneered over the last two decades. Following the highly effective format of live recording Oliver performing at some of the most iconic clubs in the greatest cities of the world, all PLAY! editions also include a little something extra: a track created exclusively for the compilation, and named for the city the mix is recorded in.
The A-side "Schnitzel" is a deeper darker shade of the classic Huntemann sound, with long synth trails and inky tones, perfect for diving deep into the after hours, while the closing track of PLAY! 05's first half, "Vienna" takes the flip side stage on this two-track EP. With its chant-along robotic vocals of "Freak Out / Exhale", and subtly minimalist tech house tempo, it is an example of a master slowly building towards a peak.

Saved Records are delighted to welcome underground champion Hot Since 82 into the family. Long-time admirers of the Leeds based producer’s consistently uncompromising and visceral aesthetic, the imprint unleashes the Hot Since 82 sound along with a remix from the ever-adventurous Matthias Meyer.

“Play The Room” is a hypnotic and heady workout that draws potency from its simplicity. Built around jacking drum machines and a throbbing, relentless wall of bass, the track grows into a powerfully addictive beast through a series of subtle steps. Slight gearshifts in tempo and weight of the bottom end facilitate a much more absorbing sound, pulling us into dubby, warehouse atmospheres. There is a warm a smoggy overtone that will suit summer dancefloors, but combined with a deft musicality that piques the ear.

Hamburg’s Matthias Meyer highlights his singular attitude once again with his wonderfully expansive remix. Rich in ambient, cinematic textures but driven by deep bass and agile breaks; the remix finds a rare beauty in its contradictions and complexities. Melodic, emotive and thoughtful yet hardened, purposeful and melancholic, this remix has the ability to lead you into the unknown forest.

For our 170th release, label founder BiG AL takes center stage with his new track 'NYC'. Ever the master of the subtle deep house groove, BiG AL's mid-tempo Original Mix creates a compelling atmosphere with hypnotic synths and ethereal vocal snippets laid over a rock-solid rhythm & groove track. 

A regular fixture at legendary Berlin venues such as Panorama Bar, Watergate and Tresor and on labels such as Mobilee, Cyclic, 8Bit and soon Poker Flat, Markus Homm should need no introduction to connoisseurs of underground dance music. His remix raises the tempo and heads into tech house territory, before introducing powerful piano chords during a truly spine-tingling breakdown.

Completing our trio of mixes, Ready Mix veteran Sezer Uysal turns in a special deep house mix under his Spennu alias. Balearic sunset touches supplied by muted guitars and expansive pads characterize Spennu's rework, but don't be fooled; this remix has more than enough weight to move a dancefloor.

Created by an international group of production talents and lovingly mastered by the brilliant Fabien Kamb at Standpoint Mastering in Los Angeles, 'NYC' seems a most appropriate tribute to that most cosmopolitan of cities.

Croatian compadres Kiano & Below Bangkok return to Ready Mix Records with an EP comprising two shuffling deep house giants, aptly titled 'Expanse' & 'Lost Submarine'.

Co-running the respected 'Luna The Cat' imprint and releasing on Deep Site, Back & Forth, Forward Education as well as Ready Mix, the duo have earned a great deal of respect throughout the electronic music community thanks to their mature, refined sound.

'Expanse' opens with snappy, swung drums; quickly joined by heavy sub bass and sweeping meditative chords building an appropriate sense of space to reflect the track's title.

Second original cut 'Lost Submarine' seethes and simmers over a tech-influenced, bouncing rhythm; an atmospheric set builder made for discerning dance-floors.

One half of Plastic City and Etoka Records duo Bucher and Kessidis, Tom Bucher delivers a straight-up deep house remix of 'Expanse', with cinematic strings and uplifting chords riding a rock solid groove.

Last but certainly not least, Mihail Bessmertny aka Deep Active Sound turns in a hypnotic and captivating version of 'Lost Submarine', combining bubbling, sub-aqua effects with intricate, metallic stabs to build a lively and addictive
rework.

SRMR181 : Kiano & Below Bangkok - Lost Submarine (Deep Active Sound Remix)

The Underworld EP marks the re-launch of the Indigo Raw label after a brief hiatus.
The imprint kicks back into life with the debut production from Barcelona based Sassafras. The production outfit comprises of label bosses Mirus (Norway), Dominic Plaza (Sweden) and vocalist Nikol Kollars (Hawaii).
For the lead track and source material for 3 remixes, the intercontinental crew drop a captivating, Mushrooms-esque narrative over sensual tech beats. To expand the package the talents of three hot artists are enlisted to add their own interpretation of Kollar’s highly personal story telling.  
The original track starts with dry drums and the sultry uttering of Kollars. With a stripped back pulse beneath her, she unravels the story of a dark underworld that she feels intrinsically part of. Her intensely personal delivery picks at the understanding of party culture and will find resonance with all true lovers of the electronic scene.
Hatikvah’s remix is dark and pumping, with otherworldly synths creating space for the track to soar. Firm drums help to drive home the darker side of the story, with Kollars firmly in the driving seat.
Now fully on board behind the scenes at Indigo Raw, Paul Loraine rolls out a muscular reinterpretation. Subtly twisting and playing with the vocal over a marching tribal beat, Loraine shifts the focus of the track. From a meandering after hours ode, the vocal now pulls no punches, finding itself squarely on the floor.
Adding bounce to the package, new-comer to Indigo Raw, Vlad Malinovskiy draws out the human tones, upping the sex factor with a lighter, rushing remix. Keeping things percussive and energetic, his addition works in contrast to the other tracks, rounding off the EP in assertive style.

The first release of 2019 on Davide Squillace's label This And That is a tech house release from Belgium duo Raw District, who have previously released on Moon Harbour, Crosstown Rebels, Selador, and Souvenir Music.

Raw District is made up of Vernon Bara and Massimo DaCosta who had previously collaborated under the alias of Vernon&DaCosta, and using that name contributed to labels such as Robsoul, OFF Recordings, and OM Records.

Vernon Bara has also compiled solo releases under the alias of Ultrasone for labels including Leftroom, Get Physical, Hot Creations, Saved Records, and Visionquest.

Amongst the four original tracks on this release is a single collaboration with fellow Belgian artist Rodham, who has also featured solo tracks on labels including Mirabel, Dul Recordings, and Homecoming Music.

Adding vocals to the title track “Long Dream” is Forrest whose lyrical talents are in constant high demand having previously featured on tracks produced by the likes of NiCe7, Sabb, Walker & Royce, Leonardo Gonnelli, and Cristoph.

"Long Dream" opens the EP by setting the scene using uplifting synths and Forrest’s haunting vocals that combine to create a moody atmosphere. Its techy groove and tight percussion make this dance floor focused cut perfect for peak time plays.

“In Maluta” is made in collaboration with Rodham, and its dark and stripped back sound creates the feeling of wide open space. Washed in effects, the twisted vocal samples fade into the shadows whilst the tribal style percussion fills the main break with suspense.

Moving focus to a chugging bassline overplayed with some hard hitting percussion, “In Between” changes the energy of the EP whilst also maintaining an atmospheric vibe. Somewhere between tech house and deep techno, its compelling vocal adds captivating suspense to the surrounding dark textures.

Finishing the release is the trippy “Spanning” that centres around luscious pads that contrast with the brooding intensity helped along by pulsating drums rhythms and rumbling bass frequencies. Understated with a focus on crisp sound design, this exquisite cut is tech house at its most chic.
