Some might say the future looks bleak, but it doesn’t in the world of Tim Bernhardt. Better known as Satin Jackets, he manages to see a light at the end of the tunnel with his new single “The Future” - created together with the Australian veteran collaborator Panama. As we stumble into a new year, Tim manages to move forward with a song that washes over you like warm, rolling waves, cascading again and again. “The Future” conveys a sense of comfort and hope, while its subconscious repetition provides the pulse that makes you feel alive. As Panama sings: “There in my heart, in the future”, there is no doubt that what is coming may be uncertain, but Satin Jackets is here to tell you that it will be alright. Wherever you might be listening to “The Future” - be it at a beach club, on a mountain top, or at a rooftop bar - Tim's ability to make you feel in the right moment, at the right place is at play once more.

“The Future” is the first song to be released on Tim’s own independent imprint “Golden Hour”. It’s a symbolic title for a song predicting what’s coming.

Tim beginnt das neue Jahr mit einem Song, der einen mitreißt, wie eine Welle, die immer wiederkehrt und dabei ein wohliges Gefühl von Wärme, Trost und Hoffnung verbreitet. In der rhythmischen Wiederholung liegt ein fortwährender Puls, der Lebendigkeit verbreitet, während Panama singt “There in my heart, in the Future”. Die Zukunft mag ungewiss sein, aber Satin Jackets ist hier, um das Gefühl zu vermitteln, dass alles gut wird. ‘Northern Lights’ is the new single from German music producer Tim Bernhardt of Satin Jackets and Berlin-based British vocalist and songwriter David Harks.  Released on Belgium’s https://soundcloud.com/eskimorecordings it follows on from recent Satin Jackets hits such as ‘Feel Good’ and ‘Never Enough’ and is sure to find favour with anyone who likes their disco Balearic and the pop cosmic.

Following a recent trip to Norway to work with fellow Eskimo artists Atella and Cavego, Tim was moved to try and capture some of his experiences there in musical form. “After experiencing a world known for its Northern Lights, I wanted to take that concept and run with it, asking myself how we could reflect this phenomena in music," Tim explains. "Despite a busy schedule, I couldn't help but take a day off and go on a trip exploring the country and the depths and beauty of one of the Fjords in the area. It was absolutely breath-taking."

 

Inspired by Tim’s experiences and music David’s lyrics narrate a journey out on the cosmic highway to find the Northern Lights, his soft vocal delivery underpinning the song’s message and bringing a sense of warmth, nostalgia and expectation as we’re led out in the dusk to explore the both the world below and skies above them. "We locked ourselves into the studio for a few days to let our imagination take its course and weave the impressions into music,” David explains. “The end result was so vivid, it felt like I had been there for it all along."
