Samalina Speaks is a response piece to Tetu Shani’s track, ‘Samalina’. The downtempo track was done by 21 year old IMI, a Kenyan vocalist, guitarist and amateur bedroom producer. Tetu Shani features on her track, offering his smooth vocals reminiscent of the hook from his track, ‘Samalina’ and adding tribal sounding background vocals.

In Samalina Speaks, IMI alludes to the possibility that perhaps something worse than betrayal happened during Samalina’s time in the big city – perhaps she changed in ways her former friendships cannot handle. Perhaps she has changed in ways too drastic for her relationship with her love to handle, hence her fear-induced distance.
