Endless Melancholy and BILYK are exploring a retro 80’s sound in their new single “Running.” 

The Ukrainian ambient project Endless Melancholy departed from their original sound by diving into the world of synthpop together with their long-time collaborator, singer-songwriter BILYK. 

Inspired by the dimensions of the 80’s pop sound, “Running” was written in two places - the Canadian Rockies and then-peaceful Ukraine. The song is about the search for one’s true self and an embracing of all the voices that have their home within us. 

The video creates spacey images with explorative environments where one is contemplating unknown objects with curiosity, openness and excitement. Created by Roman and Helena Hense, the video is itself a journey of self-exploration through yet-to-be-discovered worlds. 
Co-produced and mixed by Taras Blyzniuk at Loud Mouse Studios and mastered by Joao Carvalho Mastering, “Running” united old friends and new collaborators with the desire to bring all strangers home with us in an exploration of infinite creative possibilities.

Following a sold out gig at Paris cult venue La Boule Noire, Tomode is now dropping their sophomore EP ‘Riviera’. Infusing their Scandinavian melancholy with a hypnotizing warmth, the duo’s new outing features their dreamy vocal harmonies suspended over sun-soaked synthesizers and supported by a vintage disco sound.

”For us, the Riviera is a place where profound natural beauty is entangled with a commercial hollowness. Enjoying a deep orange sunset on cheap plastic furniture. A light coastal breeze with a hint of chlorine. Just beneath the shiny surface flows a melancholic undercurrent that you just can’t seem to escape.” the duo explains.

The EP contains already released singles ‘Conversation Starter’ and ‘Out On The Dunes’ that have garnered over 300 k streams across platforms and have been highlighted by Ones To Watch, This Song Is Sick and Wonderland Magazine, alongside the upcoming final single ‘Bar Phantasmique’ which is released on March 24, the emotive title track ‘Riviera’ and the catchy ‘Don’t Think About It’.

The next single "Fotarobat" from the upcoming album of the Belarusian band Vapna is out. The album will be released on July 6 at Radio Plato.

"Fotorobat" is the most summer track from the album at the opposite pole from the previous single "Niamiha Nemiega". It is about the ability not only to remember but also to forget in order to move forward.

Somewhere Far Away is about the impossible dream of running away to a place where everything magically feels better.  It’s also about the shame of having these moments of darkness when everyone else views my life as an overall positive experience, while I’m unable to see or feel the beautiful things other people see in me.

Je suis un bâtisseur et facilitateur de la scène underground depuis plus de vingt ans. Par l'entremet de mon émission de radio La Photo Sonore (sur les ondes de CODIAC CKUM 93.5fm à l'Université de Moncton) je partage ma passion pour les arts et la musique avec acharnement. En plus d'être un chroniqueur de la scène artistique et culturel c'est les arts et la musique qui me garde aller avec ferveur. toujours en photo et musique. 

I'm a DJ, photographer, radio show host, music & arts archivist.  I'm based out Moncton, New Brunswick(Canada).  Longtime scene maker, supporter and facilitator of the canadian underground east coast music scene. I host a weekly radio show called La Photo Sonore on CODIAC CKUM 93.5FM (Université de Moncton) as well as host monthly dance parties called IPN with BONES all over the east coast of Canada.  I've also been a music and arts scene reporter for various shows on CBC and Radio Canada in the past.... music and the arts are what keep me going.
