Good Ol' Boy is a very special song. It was originally written and composed by David Dunham, who dedicated it to a dear friend – a gesture that gives the song even more emotional depth.

When David invited Mike Fox and me to create a new arrangement, we gladly accepted. It was an honor to give his beautiful composition a fresh new sound.

For me, this project was more than just music: it was about friendship, trust, and shared creativity. I first met David and Mike here on SoundCloud – two outstanding musicians, but more importantly, two kind and wonderful human beings. Over time, a true friendship has grown between us, and I’m deeply grateful for that.

I hope you can feel a bit of what makes this song so meaningful to us when you listen.

I thought that, after all these years, it was time to remake it, without altering the melody or the atmosphere.

Bosque Redondo (final version)*

In the previous version (https://soundcloud.com/michele-ansani/gamma-o) there was excessive sound saturation. I kept only the vocal part (remixed) and redid the piano backing, aiming for a more minimalist result.

This track is dedicated to our cat Max 🐱  Real hunter, half stray/ferret cat, brave character. We did not buy or adopt him. Young fella adopted us, coming one time to stay for good. Cleaned two blocks around which is all his territory now. He lost left eye in his streets battles last year. Now looks around even when eats from his bowl. Cat's life ain't easy.... :)

Created using cubase syncned with a Moog Mother 32 sending cv signals to a Moog Slim Phatty filtered through a Electrix Warfactory and a Doepfer Dark Time sending cv signals to a Korg Ms10, with midi signals sent to a Novation Supernova and Novation Basstion 2 with a mash of Tonic and Rakit and tr-606 drum and electronic voices from my old Speak n Spell! Peace :D
