When we thought of turning this space into an access point for our audience to become acquainted with the immense contingent of fresh names doing fantastic things at the moment, it stemmed from the feeling of deeply missing one of the most cherished elements of our physical events: the future-nurture rooms where the public could get to know them face to face and enjoy their creations. That environment was special to us because there we could provide the kind of care all talent needs in order to blossom, an opportunity to showcase the tomorrow of our scene. However, since our physical manifestations are impossible at the moment, we decided to bring this dear endeavour of ours into the online realm and make an open call for mixes. And of course we expected it to garner some attention, but the response surpassed our wildest expectations, giving us not only a rewarding idea of how much we are trusted, but especially a good glimpse of what a fantastic new generation of selectors is out there, ready to be discovered by the public. Kickstarting these special series, we are happy to present a wonderful selector whose musical offering took us on such an enthralling ride that we felt compelled to share so you can all enjoy it:  Apartamento 21 resident and Bongosynth affiliate Mary Roman.

Seja por edits que dão uma cara nova pra músicas esquecidas ou por produções originais, que apresentam uma nova geração de artistas, seus lançamentos misturam gêneros diferentes que se conversam e complementam. Seu próximo EP, o quarto até o momento, está a caminho e vem pro mundo no segundo semestre (cenas dos próximos capítulos).

Neste mix de quase 3 horas, o grupo joga sua rede com amplitude, passeando pelo house, electro, italo, afro, disco, e o que mais couber nesse meio, começando com suavidade e chegando até a hora mais quente da pista.

Introducing @marymroman, 25 years old and living in São Paulo. Currently she’s studying to be an engineer and architect, but as soon as she started going to parties and raves, she realized how much she loved music. Then she began to create an intense relationship with music that has led her to make mixes for well-known platforms such as Gop Tun, Permanent Vacation and more!
Resident of @apartamento-21 and @bongosynth affiliate.

She's navigating effortlessly between a lot of different styles ranging from disco, dub to balearic oddities but let the music talk; enjoy the mix! 🐬

Connecting distinctive characters in order to act creatively and cohesively could be a challenge in any artistic area. It demands the type of trust that nurtures complicity and the type of coordination that depends on a lot of factors, the main one being intimacy. But music has this power of synchronization that can be hardly achieved through any other form of expression and is the main reason why and how this collective can do what they do in such a unique manner. The quartet and label known as Bongosynth takes full advantage of this harmonic quality that rhythms and melodies have of putting us in consonance whenever we play or enjoy any musical artifact. And this mix gives delightful evidence of what makes the curatorial capacity of this ensemble something so special as they take us through two intense hours of relentless groove-weaving across a spectacularly diverse soundscape.

'Tantos Desejos EP' marca o primeiro lançamento da Bongosynth. Na primeira faixa, Panhoca mixou um um hit do lendário Marcos Valle com baterias de break e baixos super funky feitos diretamente pra pista. A segunda música é a reinterpretação do Zanelato para uma trilha cinemática da Laurie Anderson, introduzindo synths que a tornam ainda mais psicodélica. O terceiro edit ficou a cargo do Miguez, adicionando a 303 a uma faixa de hip house do artista Congolês deixando ela ainda mais pista.

'Tantos Desejos EP' marks the first Bongosynth release. For the first tune, Panhoca filled a classic hit from the legendary Marcos Valle with funky breakbeat drums and basslines made straight for the dancefloor. In the second one a cinematic soundtrack by Laurie Anderson is reinterpreted by Zanelato with beautiful synth voices to make it even more psichedelic. In the third one, Miguez composed a melancholic 303 line to make the already floor filler hip house track more spicy.
