Bonnie Nicholls is a singer/songwriter based in San Diego, Calif. Her style evokes Aimee Mann’s cerebral intensity and Joni Mitchell’s aching honesty, or that’s what people tell her, anyway. She also draws on storytelling arcs of musical theater. While most of her songs delve into matters of the heart, the pandemic inspired songs about isolation and political ineptitude – in a fun way! When she’s not working on her own music, she plays keys, bass and melodica in an all-girl band, Birds on a Train.
