The mysterious @doesntmatterdj stepped up for the first edition of his residency WHATEVER, delivering an hour of grooves spanning  UK techno, breaks and pure sunday grooves.

WHATEVER001 w/ doesn't matter

@sangrevoss, champion of maximalist left-field dance, has been pushing sounds out of SE London since his debut Dance Class EP, released via Third Place in 2019.

Having also featured on Rhythm Section and Fabric Records, in 2020 Sangre released Expressions of a Mind in Slumber 2017-19, a collection of ambient compositions woven together with samples of his sleep talking which received support from the likes of Avalon Emerson and Bradley Zero.

He also runs the eclectic monthly pseudo pseudo show on Noods radio as a platform for the more under-loved and peripheral genres.

Sangre came through with a proudly oddball mix of textures, tones and rhythms for us and it went down a treat, he's also provided a tracklist so here it is:

"Bolam has been on an ear-catching run of form. Many will know him for his 2020 track ‘Break Yo’ Self’, a slamming slice of breakneck electro released alongside another original and two remixes on MELD. 

Since then, the Scot has built a varied-yet-focused collection of tracks, releasing on various VAs for labels such as Lobster Theramin and Haws (spell). 2021 has seen him continue this fine form, kicking off the year with highly regarded vinyl release on Space Dust, a newly launched sub-label of Alien Communications. 

More compilation appearances have also sprung up, including ‘Honeycomb Kiss,’ a bassbin-rumbling trip through the wormhole, on the recent Control Freak Recordings ‘Psycho//Soma’ VA. 

Having now moved from the Shetland Islands to Malmø, Sweden, Bolam has made sure to get involved in the flourishing scene out there, linking up with local DJs such as Dip Shim and DJ L for various podcast and radio appearances, including a stellar mix for Retreat Radio."

"In a nod to to humble bonsai that you’re named after, all of the tracks are about or named after plants. I think it’s my first themed mix. It actually made things a bit easier than usual to put together!"

Will is a producer extraordinaire, with releases on Wisdom Teeth, Rhythm Section, Control Freak and his own imprint, Third Place. Armed with varied tastes and a strong ear for blends, he always manages to weave patient and engaging journeys for his mixes, taking in a large range of styles and moods in the process.

We are hugely excited to welcome Flywheel (aka Finn) to our mix series, with an hour of soothing sonics.

Finn's own words: 

"This mix consists of some of my favourite drum-less tracks. It’s not a mix that’s designed to start slow and build; it’s pretty consistent in terms of energy and pace. It’s all pretty warm sounding, too. And it’s a good chance to test out some of what I’ve been making without drums. (Some of it still has drums)"

Finn is a wicked producer, composer and live musician, with releases on Gimme A Break and Accidental JNR, as well as some wicked live projects. One to watch!

Day Break w/ Robek & Shokunin | Voices Radio | 12.01.25

We are proud to present the first solo outing on BONSE1, a 4-track EP from London-based Mailer. 

With previous releases via Berlin’s Sine Language Records and a contribution to last year’s Fragment On Machines VA, ‘Dormant Season’ sees the producer continue to develop his intentional and restrained sonic palette. 

Written after a period of personal upheaval, the EP exhibits Mailer’s expressive synthesis and drum programming, with icey, angular sound design casting wintery shadows across each track. Polyrhythms cascade around heavy atmospheres and deep sub bass, while the melodic leads give the record a sense of hope, hinting at brighter days ahead.

Utilising distinct sound design techniques, including the digital manipulation of numerous physical, naturalistic sound sources, the world created by these four tracks is one to get lost in. Built for introspection both on and off the dancefloor, we invite you to let these intricately built tracks unfurl around you, hopefully providing some light in these wintery days.
