Out for next Bandcamp Friday then on all other platforms July 19, Well Cut Records return with a package of forward thinking funk to satisfy discerning DJs and dancers alike. Dubble D's "Herbissimo" is a chunky, funk driven cosmic groove inspired by the great Herbie Hancock. The title track builds around tight picked guitar loops, live percussion and broken funk drums, opening up into lush, sun drenched pad breakdowns.The "Moodymanc House Dub" raises the tempo, strips out the drums and anchors everything with a heavy kick to embark on a dynamic filtered journey, whilst the "Danny Does Disco edit" re-visits the original funky vibe but keeps the kik solidly rooted to a 4 to the floor tip.

With some lush House music, some heavyweight Breaks and a slab of Acid House already lighting up our festive giveaway, it's time to make those baubles really glisten with a prime-time Disco sparkler courtesy of Andy Buchan. 

We first featured Andy's music back in 2017 and as some of you will already know, he has always delivered the goods every time he has visited the ward. Whether it be one of his edits of a classic golden oldie, a piece of new and original music or a remix featured on one of his friends EP's, Andy always seems to bring the feel-good factor to the fore and in these times, feel-good music is a priceless commodity all in itself.

The track Andy has kindly given us to give away to you for day 8 of our advent calendar is a tasty remix of his that originally featured on Conan The Selector's superb The Goodnight EP that was released earlier this year on Hot Gorilla Records - a new Disco label co-founded by them both. Taking on Goodnight from the EP, Andy lays down razor-sharp synths, a gorgeous vocal hook and spirit-lifting horns and piano over a feisty 4/4  beat and infectious groove that'll leave you feeling like you you just can't get enough! Juno review ::  A single-tracker here from Leeds lad Andy Buchan, who's known for releases on Peppermint Jam, Audaz, Rare Wiri, Chopshop, Spa In Disco and Midnight Riot, among other well-respected labels, as well as his many re-edits. 'Basement Beats' is a rolling, party-hearty funk/soul cut with something of a late 60s feel, and centres around a looped female vocal snip saying "down, down, down" (or something very similar) atop scorching Hammonds and rinky-tink pianos, with a couple more vocal snips accompanying the breakdown around the four-minute mark. Simple stuff, perhaps, but it's groovy, baby... it's outta sight!

Sound Exhibitions Records is an Italian label founded in 2010 based in Olbia, Sardinia. After some great releases by scene heroes such Fabiolous Barker, Phil Disco and Dave Gerrard, they're back with this terrific various artists EP to show you where they're at in 2021. The A side kicks off with a couple of hot jams by Monsieur Van Pratt, such as the sexy boogie-down vibe of 'Groove In Your Soul' (with Maicol Mayers) followed by 'The Speech' (also featuring Maicol Mayers) which ventures into sexy low-slung territory for the late night. On the flip, Mr ThruouT is clearly the man of the show on the slo-mo soul of 'Adapter' followed by some sensual deep disco in the form of vocal number 'Thrubet Ottobre Funk'.
