Tanzen ist ein Ritual, ein Brauchtum, eine darstellende Kunstgattung, eine Berufstätigkeit, eine Sportart, eine Therapieform, ein soziales Phänomen oder schlicht ein Gefühlsausdruck.&#13;
Tanzen hat in der Gesellschaft viele Funktionen, kann aber auch Selbstzweck oder Zeitvertreib sein.&#13;

Die Kompaktkassette (BeatTape, Compact Cassette, CC), Musikkassette (MusiCassette, MC) oder Audiokassette (deutsch meist nur Kassette, engl. auch kurz cassette oder tape) ist ein Tonträger zur elektromagnetischen, analogen Aufzeichnung und Wiedergabe von Tonsignalen. Sie enthält ein Tonband, das zur einfacheren Handhabung und zum Schutz in ein Kunststoffgehäuse eingeschlossen ist. Das Abspielen und Aufnehmen von Kassetten erfolgt mit einem Kassettenrekorder. In der Zeit von den frühen 1970er- bis in die späten 1990er-Jahre war die Kompaktkassette eines der meistgenutzten Audio-Medien neben der Schallplatte und später der Compact Disc.[1]

Kassette und zugehöriger Rekorder wurden als System zur mobilen Musiknutzung von einem Entwicklerteam um den Ingenieur und Erfinder Lou Ottens beim niederländischen Unternehmen Philips konstruiert. Die Entwicklungsarbeiten begannen 1960, im August 1963 wurden Kassette und Gerät als Pocket Recorder vorgestellt. Die Kassette konkurrierte zunächst mit anderen Tonbandkassetten-Typen verschiedener Mitbewerber und setzte sich durch, der kompakte und robuste Tonträger erfreute sich jahrzehntelang großer Beliebtheit.[2][3] Heute hat sie wegen des Siegeszuges der digitalen Audiotechnik in Industrieländern nur noch geringe Bedeutung. In Schwellen- und Entwicklungsländern ist die Kassette allerdings wegen ihrer Robustheit und einfachen Technik immer noch sehr weit verbreitet.
