Magician On Duty proudly celebrates the return of Dnl Mike (@dnl_mike) with his highly anticipated fourth release, a project that encapsulates the essence of his musical evolution and his unwavering devotion to storytelling through sound.

Dnl Mike first appeared on the label in 2024 with his debut project Fantasy. Through remix contributions and collaborative projects, Dnl Mike has since built bridges between genres and cultures, bringing both soulful energy and modern electronic precision to every work. His versatility reflects his eclectic influences—ranging from blues and jazz to rock and classical—while remaining rooted in a timeless sense of melody and atmosphere.

Now, with his fourth release, Dnl Mike delivers his most refined and emotional statement to date. A collection that feels equally at home in intimate listening spaces and expansive dancefloors, the record expands on the themes of transformation, connection, and inner journey. We normally wouldn't do things like this but too many people have asked for a download. We're turning a blind eye to our own judgement on cheesy-mashups. So here is one of the bootlegs we made for the 90s mix. We've pulled it out of the project for your enjoyment.

This encapsulates 1999 for us. Cassius - Feeling For You was one of the first records we ever bought. The fact that it had a Les Rythmes Digitales Remix makes it even better. We weren't to know at 12 years old that this song would still be just as playable 14 years later,  and how much of an impact both Cassius and Stuart Price would have on our music tastes while learning to DJ. And what more needs to be said about Outkast? One of the greatest hip-hop acts to ever exist. They were the soundtrack to every house party since the beginning of high school. Big Boi and Andre 3000 in the same studio. How could that go wrong?

This is the final instalment of the decade mixes. But this time it's a little bit different.

This is the decade that turned us into what we are now. This mix is effectively our condensed dance music bible (believe it or not, there are lots of tunes we couldn't fit in). The mix is done in the same style in which we remember our clubbing experiences. Most notably, The Bang Gang parties every Friday night in Sydney. Those guys were a HUGE part of why we became DJ's in the first place. This mix will, for better or worse, dig up a few dance-floor 'moments' for anyone who took part in the madness. 

So many of these songs are classics to us, and probably are to many others too. It's hard to hear these songs without cracking a smile and remembering a great time of irresponsibility. 

You won't find too many mixtapes in this style anymore. And certainly not from us. But we had to show what this decade was all about to us, and how it brought us to what we do today.  

We're dedicating this mix to our belated friend and mentor, Ajax. He's had more influence on this final chapter than anyone will ever know.

Thanks to everyone who got behind these mixes. It's been a long ride.
