Oliver Koletzki follows up his latest full-length material, originally encasing 13 tracks with a series of remix EPs. The first of the two sees the label head's 'A Tribe Called Kotori' and 'Tankwa Town' rearranged, totaling four brand new mainstage-ready reinterpretations.

The main artist himself contributes an alternate version of the melodic electronica ballad 'A Tribe Called Kotori', the forerunner of the album. Dubbed 'Woodfloor', this variant boasts affluent rhythmical percussions, that swiftly and righteously amp up its dance-floor appeal. 

Chris Schwarzwälder steps up with another reinterpretation of 'A Tribe Called Kotori', channeling on its dubby layer and injecting more zest through playful drums and a subtle slice of buzzy synths. 

Usually known for his vibrant productions, Niko Schwind offers up a surprisingly laid-back yet highly captivating rework of the oriental folk-tinged Tankwa Town. The track’s initial Bengali instrumentation transfigures into its less acoustic, more glitchy and electronic sounding rendition.

Meanwhile, on the flipside, we find Berliner Kleintierschaukel conveying the prime arrangement into a harmony-heavy exploration. A deeply immersive piece, the remix’s central earworm comes in the shape of aptly crafted sitar loops.

Recently, Danish producer Tomas Barfod released the Broken Glass EP, officially making him the newest member of the increasingly eclectic Friends of Friends roster. While his music may not have much in common with that of labelmates Shlohmo or Salva, it's certainly of the same caliber, something Barfod will be showcasing more thoroughly when his next full-length, Salton Sea, drops on May 21. In the meantime, American insider magazine XLR8R invited the WhoMadeWho drummer to display his curatorial chops behind the decks, as he's put together this exclusive mix for their podcast series. From spring to winter and then to summer might be an odd order for the seasons as we know it, but it’s what you’ll experience when listening to the latest Diynamic release titled “Frozen”, courtesy of Berlin-based Blindsmyth.

Opening Electronica track “Longing” starts out like the still cold soil that is being hit by the first sunrays of spring. Individual melodic elements sprout like plants and flowers once they get nourished by the warm energy of the sun after their long sleep. They slowly grow, revegetate, and paint the face of the earth in newfound green. 
Title track “Frozen” sets you in the absolute peak of winter. The percussion is reminiscent of submerged glaciers that suddenly lose mass, slowly surfacing from the depth, cracking and, inch by inch with each new musical layer, uncovering their full massive hull. And then, Blindsmyth’s voice hits in full effect and dramatically cuts through the icy scenery like a soaring fiery sword, climbing higher and higher until it discharges in a powerful climax that calls for closed eyes and hands held high on any dancefloor.
“A New Dawn” leaves you on a high note: The gentle instrumentation on positively fierce drums that caresses the ear and a warm bassline that gets you in the guts linger around long after the track has played out. A summer day to remember.
Blindsmyth’s latest release is as organic as electronic music can be. This is why it gets right to the heart.

Berlin-based duo Booka Shade, aka Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, have carved out a reputation as one of the most celebrated electronic acts to come out of Europe over the past two decades. 

With their beginnings in Frankfurt and their sights originally on synth-pop, the duo Booka Shade quickly gained a strong following within electronic music, and in 2002 the pairing formed the now legendary dance label Get Physical Music (together with M.A.N.D.Y., Thomas ‘DJ T.’ Koch and Peter Hayo), where they would have a platform for their own music. 

Three years later, in 2005, their EP’s ‘Mandarine EP’ and ‘Body Language’ - the latter co-produced with M.A.N.D.Y. - launched Booka Shade into the stratosphere with both EPs becoming international successes, whilst the following years soon welcomed an extensive body of work featuring a combination of stand out albums and singles that quickly achieved further global success.

Since their break-through performance at Sónar in 2005, Booka Shade have earned huge recognition with their innovative live shows, even being named one of Resident Advisor's Top 5 live acts in the world in 2010. They have opened for legendary acts such as Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk, whilst headlining stages at the likes of Coachella, Glastonbury, Rock Werchter, and Red Rocks just to name a few. In recent years, the band has appeared amongst the likes of DJ Mag’s ‘Alternative Top 100 DJ List’ (2018), whilst their notable live sets have led to key mentions amongst a host of distinguished festival reviews and round-ups, including placement within DJ Mag’s ’10 Unforgettable Sets From The History Of Exit Festival’.

Booka Shade were also inducted into Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 Hall of Fame, having received strong support from the station throughout their careers, playing at both the ‘40 Years of Radio 1’ celebration with Annie Nightingale and the ‘20 Years of Essential Mix’ party, whilst also mixing Pete Tong’s ‘All Gone Ibiza’ compilation album. 

The duo’s fan base is in no way restricted to electronic music enthusiasts, with great success playing slots at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Lollapalooza, and more by utilising their massive crossover potential, which is as evident in their billings as it is in their remix credits, including acts like Depeche Mode, Moby, Hot Chip, Kings of Leon, Woodkid, The Knife and many more.

Add to the mix their Blaufield Music imprint, founded in 2013, and it’s clear and easy to see the pairing's musical knowledge not only as producers but also adept A&R’s, with releases to date on the imprint from both emerging and established talent alongside their own productions resulting in a string of releases and collaborations that can be regularly found amongst the upper end of Beatport’s Top 100 charts and championed by many of the industry’s biggest names.

Twenty years, dozens of EP’s and six albums later, Booka Shade have become more than a household name, they have become synonymous with the spirit which drives electronic music and have set a precedent to which electronic music is still held to today.
