New and old music come together in the latest KAYA PROJECT guest mix. The timing is perfect, as his latest album "When The Light Gets In" was recently released, and he will be visiting Budapest for a performance on December 21st. Kaya Project is a world fusion collective spearheaded by UK producer/composer Seb Taylor. The group has released eight albums, primarily on the Canadian label Interchill Records, with numerous appearances on compilations such as Claude Challe's Buddha Bar series and Six Degrees' World Traveller series.  Encompassing original studio sessions and field recordings captured throughout India, North Africa, and the Middle East, Kaya Project is truly a vibrant melting pot of global influences.  Seb is regularly joined on stage by world-renowned Kazakhstani vocalist Irina Mikhailova, whose sublime vocal performances graced the very first Kaya Project track and have been present on every album since the band's inception.

Floating like an exploding bomb into the liquid universe of a forgotten Kingdom, using music as a weapon to heal and to protect from the enemies of underworld. It’s like looking for something that's precious and unique. These forbidden words will seduce you with beauty and destroy you with venom! Once they will be a part of your body it will never let it go. They're furious, mysterious and dirty as the gates of the “Rico Mambo” Kingdom. This is where the sun always shines, sometimes cold like the nights in the Mexican desert and sometimes spicy like a chili pepper, ready to set dancefloors on fire while the spaceship is still traveling to the speed of light! Apart from a spell that haunted his entire life MiRET's dreams were pretty “normal”. Beautiful women, exotic places, Margaritas by the sea, surfing in hyper-space, beating his enemies in the battlefield....whatever a restless spirit like his can ever imagine.

Besides being such an honor to be Merkaba Music's representative as label dj, I received with great affection the invitation to idealize the last episode of Textures Mixes Series.

My choice was to tell a story based on the range of 4x4 sounds that label sets out to explore, as well as because of the engagement I have had as a dark progressive DJ for almost 15 years.

In this mix I set out to contemplate the variety of Merkaba Music psytrance tracks, among the new and old tunes of which I most identify and which bring the atmosphere of the label in an ancestral and futuristic mystical combination.
