Rock The House [feat. Tony Christ]

I made this track 2 years ago now. Its a real pain how long it takes to get tracks released sometimes. I made it around the time that I signed Bobby Tank and Alizzz to my label MofoHifi, and I guess both those artists influenced my thinking in some way - in the combination of uplifting chordal synth work, an 80s/90s revisited sound pallet, and post-dubstep beats. Though of course other aspects of the track are very different to both those artists.

I like the sense that tracks like this give us of an alternative history of music, like one of those Star Trek episodes where you visit earth on a different fork in the time space continuum - one where in the mid 80s people were using dubstep halftime beats!

You may have noticed now that our album "All These Things Are Gone" is focusing on... things that have gone... from our culture and world, and one thing I really miss from music these days is key changes. The key change is just about the most emotionally affecting tricks a composer can use, but these days they have disappeared from most commercial music (apart from going a semitone up for the last chorus of a boy band song) and are 100% absent from dance music. Supersonic changes key relentlessly and willfully - nearly to the point of being a joke, but not quite.  This keeps me happy! (Also see our track "Heart Of The Night" that has the chorus a semitone out from the verse, for a 'light and shade' effect.)

I have great house tempo mixes of this track in from Louis La Roche and Fire Flowerz and I hope to release those during March.

Originally from the elliptical M87, Mr Gonzo had propagated his first discoidal waves with "Extended Play Area" in late 2010. Since then, he has relentlessly continued to appear in the most famous earthly spots, like this Full Moon Party on Mount Elgon or also Galactic Sound Festival on Boracay Island. Production-wise, several artists met during his worldwide tours, like Digikid84, White Bamby or 33hz, have requested him for remixes. One evening, during a Magic Cherry Party in Melbourne, he met a magnificent dancing girl, whose natural undulation made him discover the link between audiomagnetic vibrations of his cosmic music and  human body's sensory receptors. Never had he felt a similar cross-frequency on a dancefloor before! According to the legend, he caught her attention using a squaric impulse, and she said: "I’m gonna dance on you", before teaching him everything about joys of love. It is she who inspired his second 12’inch "Dance On You".

The man watched, sitting quietly this morning while the black hands on the small black clock there in the room ticked on and on. These black hands counted the black numbers slowly at first, but they span ever quick as time wore sleepily on. Ever quicker they span and ever quieter they ticked… 
In the beginning the ticking noise had been loud. It was fussy and obtrusive like a spoiled child, but free as the wind squeezing through the cracks in the drafty walls. But as the day wore on the sound seemed to become more restrained, tied down in its own little box of self-affirming noise. The change second by second was imperceptible to the naked ear, but over the course of the hours it became meeker, more formal and more unimposing. Still the seconds raced by, again and again, until all the seconds and all the ticks seemed to melt into one. 
The man sat there in the late evening, collecting the dust of the world, unblinking as he watched the clock. Maybe he should do something? But no, that would require him to change, and he was tired, so tired. As it became night, the black numbers and the black clock faded gradually into obscurity. He could no longer see, and he was panicked. The ticking noise blurred into one, quieter and quieter and faster and faster until he looked back and in his dusty mind he suddenly realised he could not remember how it had been that beautiful morning. Eventually, after sitting all day, the clock struck midnight. A crow croaked outside the window, and the wind, which had been blowing forcefully all day, stopped squeezing through the cracks. All became still; the man blinked.
