2022 The Sounds of Christmas

How time flies! For the 20th edition of the Xmess mix we spend a little time with Robert Frost, The Heathen and the Holy, the Dollyrots, Dream Nails, June Christy, and more. This year was tough losing Sinéad O'Connor and Mars Williams. O'Connor's beautiful version of "Silent Night" makes an appearance and the Waitresses' "Christmas Wrapping" is back on the menu.

2023 - Adventure in Xmess

Another year passes, and the winds of December bring a new Xmess mix. In the dark of winter days, why not spruce up a boring hairdo with Christmas flair? The results are party-ready, but be cautious around cats and elves.

Only The Elves Know For Sure - 2024's Xmess Mix

Construct your own tiny, festive reality with this mix, the sonic equivalent of finding a half-eaten candy cane in a coat pocket from 1987.  We kick off with Sammy Davis Jr. selling heartburn relief, because nothing says "Holiday Spirit" like preemptive Alka-Seltzer. From there, it’s a lawless sleigh ride through Swiss bell ringers, lo-fi beats, and actual WGBH TV sign-offs. We’ve got Ray Charles flirting, elevator Muzak preparing you for departure, and a song about the glamour of selling trees outside a Tesco. It is disjointed, slightly commercial, and deeply personal. Please put this on to confuse your in-laws, or use it to soundtrack a festive mental breakdown in a mall parking lot. Happy Holidays!
