Boop Snoot is the counter culture DJ for those who appreciate transcendent electronic sounds influenced by the almost mythical DJ tribes from the rural desert to underground warehouse dens of California. Originally from New York, she was raised in the fertile music cultures of Seattle and Southern California, where she explored everything from Bluegrass, Indie and Folk to metal subgenres such as Grind Core, Death, Black Metal and Crust Punk. Comfortable with driving sounds that aggressively impose themselves on the audience, Boop Snoot has turned her professional focus towards the “dark, grimy sounding, high energy DnB and Neurofunk” she loves most. She’s embedded herself, for years, into the underground and transformational festival scene, having participated, not only as an audience member, but also working for a festival medical group, regularly attending over 15 events a year. No newcomer looking to bank on the scene, she is a respected member of a flourishing community of musical artists with close ties to the event crew FLOORISH, and in particular Josh Harvey, who has fostered her technical development as a DJ and encouraged her to pursue her musical aspirations professionally. There is so much confidence in her skill and taste that FLOORISH booked Boop Snoot for her professional debut. Her ideal audience is made up of those who, as she puts it, “let their inner freak out, party till they hit the floor and don’t just listen to the music, but totally evaporate and become the music entirely. Yeah, those guys!”
