One morning not so long ago, deep in the Sweat headquarters, a little chat with JÜAN DU SOL, one part RÜFÜS keyboard maestro, one part secret A&R weapon, went a little something like this:

JÜAN: Have you heard of these Melbourne guys called Boot Action? 
ME: No. Why? 
JÜAN: They have this tune, I don't think it's released, but we've been playing it in our Dj sets and it absolutely destroys. 
ME: Really? Would love to hear it. 
JÜAN:	Easy. Will send it across.

Sure enough, JÜAN sends a tune by the name of Bosun. And man is it BOSSIN!. Emails were exchanged, deals were unsigned and not long after, Bosun was ours. With possibly the wonkiest horn line ever, this is a Melbourne banger in the good sense of the word, the kind that gets dropped at Revolver, the kind that gets trainspotted every single time you play it. The b side, In The Mood, it ain't too shabby either.

The whole idea with our little sub-label Club Sweat, is that you know what - we can sign whatever the fark we want. As long as we love it. Even if we know the artist is never going to do another track with us, if we love it…Club Sweat will love it.

In fact, we even put in the contract in the option bit "Nil, but it would be nice to keep it in the family."

And so it goes with Club Sweat that we just like to release bombs. But when a bomb maker comes back….with another bomb, that's when we rub our hands with glee and thank Suge Knight for showing us that the music industry isn't all about money, guns and bitches.

Enter bomb maker No. #1 aka Boot Action - who really really really did release one of our all time favourites with "Bosun" which til this day, remains in the crate.

And "Gorgan" - it's not a follow up - it's more a statement - it's like Rocky 2. Once it happened, you knew there would be Rocky 3 and 4 - but 2 was the one that sealed the deal.

And for us - "Gorgan", featuring the sweet vocals of Barry Tones, does this for Boot Action.

Soothsayer; one who claims to be able to foretell events or predict the future (usually on the basis of special knowledge).

Now, I'm no soothsayer, but i do have special knowledge and you know what, i'm going to use it and i'm going to make some predictions.

And in it i see GO FREEK. Up in lights. Smashing clubs, the charts, themselves, world tours, huge remixes, massive releases. I see a BIG year for them, this 15th year of the 21st century.

But what is this special knowledge that gives me this foresight? Well, for starters, this very single on promo HOW LONG. This is Gutter Tech 2015 people, the genre that was created by and for these boys just got an update. And it's weirder and whackier than ever but with a new lil kicker. Courtesy of the pretty chords and vox stabs..it can still hang out on dance floors that may be at times scared by the freek that is Rus and Caleb. So go on…….let some gutter tech in….

Oh…and we got remixes :)

AC Slater (is this his best work yet???), Dirty Bird bad boy Aaron Snapes, Club Sweat legends Boot Action and homie LO99 all drop some love on this release.

And this is just the first unleashing from our boys for the year. MUCH more to come. I see the future and it's bright. But I'm just not sure if I need to cancel my appointment with the psychic?

Lincoln Jesser is the newest face to sweep the dance music scene. The rising talent cuts through the noise with his forward-thinking productions, most recently, “In My Place,” the sun-drenched and symphonic off-color indie pop record which landed on Astrx/Ministry of Sound earlier this summer. Now comes a loaded remix package featuring dance music icon Benny Benassi, Sydney, Australia-based house duo Set Mo, and Melbourne-bred Boot Action.

Benassi brings in piano melodies and twinkling synths for a cool downtempo interpretation that can make its way into a late night club set. Set Mo changes up the pace entirely by use of soothing woodwind instruments. Boot Action’s version begins with a raw rock-vibe with its drumwork, though it soon drops out into a driving house stunner.

Evolution. It's what keeps the world from getting boring. In a scientific sense, its a change in the heritable traits of biological populations over successive generations. In a musical sense, its a change, or at least a development, in the sound and or style of a producer. In science, evolution is seeming always good. In music…..well..how many producers do we know that used to be good and have evolved into………

Fortunately for Boot Action, the evolutionary process has been outstanding and Luke Taylor and Jake Waters latest offering, "The Liquid EP", which sees them step up to the plate as fully fledged members of Team Sweat, is something nature would be proud of. It's got all the trademarks of their breakthrough tune Bosun, but also, demonstrates the time in the studio fine-tuning the craft (evolving, shall we say).

Both Liquid feat Jimi Crisp and Ghandus are certified bad ass club rockers, and not bad meaning bad, bad meaning GOOD!!!!!!

This might be how you’d describe the first time you sat in a 1974 Holden Kingswood, but not Boot Action. The first time they were in a Kingswood was in the back seat, being conceived.

Luke Taylor & Jake Waters have always shared a deep affinity for counter culture and played out their musical internship in the subset of the underground scene, a place called Club Kitchen. The after hours rave represented everything they loved in music; House grooves, jazz throwbacks, 808’s and heartbreaks, and with a backdrop of sweat drenched pots & pans.

Months after, they won a set of headphones in a meat raffle, at that point the boys knew; it was time set about giving Boot Action to the world. 

Throwing a few bootlegs into the blogosphere, and gigging anywhere that would take him, BA hit it’s stride with the release of debut EP ‘Bosun’. The grimy trumpet laden house jam pricked the ears of tastemakers RUFUS, and was eventually signed to Sweat It Out in early 2014. It enjoyed regular plays on triple J, and also mad support from Yolanda Be Cool, Tommy Trash, Tommie Sunshine, Motez, Dom Dolla, Sinden, Beni, KLP, The Aston Shuffle, and Zombie Disco Squad to name a few.

Their follow up single 'Gorgan' debuted at #26 in the Aria Charts with support from AC Slater, Playmode, Golden Features, Danny T, Hey Sam, Go Freek, Mike Metro, Wongo & more. Tocadisco included it in his ‘Tocacabana’ radio show
And Golden Features dropped it in his closing set at Beyond The Valley festival 2014.

Boot Action is well and truly here. The only thing that will stop this gentlemen from turning up at your local watering hole and blowing the roof off is if the Kingswood breaks down, or customs takes his USB’s again … It’s said they were allegedly bomb checked in Sydney and confiscation was a matter of public safety.
