Bootleg Rascal have just finished up supporting Sticky Fingers on the Gold Snafu single tour around Australia last month and have been at it in the studio - squirrelled away writing in the Rascal den, well into the hair in one of Sydney's armpits. These fine young gents pump out what only Bootleg Rascal can, with their musical dynamic and their unique creative "charms". Kings & Queens is the first single to come from the recent sessions. A post disco 70's style infectious grab that hoists it's tote bag of influences high. Opening with agonising screeches and a subtle splash of keys, an unwavering beat kicks in against walls of warped bass-infused synths, as the fiercely commanding cadences of front man Carlos Lara flow seamlessly into the howling chorus.

Get Over Myself

A nod to the more traditional sounds of the band, ‘Tryin’ To Run’ is an explosion of indie-dub sunshine with feel-good riffs, groove-laden percussion and infectious sing-a-long’s. The deft guitar work of Jimmy Young shines brightly, meticulously composed and thoughtfully paired with the charismatic vocal performance of Carlos Lara.
