It’s the start of a new era for the cobbers, as they present their first compilation of 100% original music. Cementing the label’s New Age Italo manifesto, these four tracks straddle neon-tinted nostalgia and sleek futurism. Sounds from yesteryear, for the dancefloors of tomorrow. 

This dichotomy is clear on opener ‘Silicon Horizon’, a propulsive banger from Kayroy which draws inspiration from the threshold of the digital age, evoking the rush of a nighttime race through city streets on a Tron bike. 

The anthemic ‘Make Italo Disco Great Again’ gives tune to the phrase brandished by DJs such as Skatebård. Romain FX faithfully celebrates the ongoing Italo legacy with appropriately tuneful synths and cheesy lyrics, courtesy of vocalists Guido Balboa & Annika. 

On the flip, German synth-wave fanatic Compilerbau delivers an atmospheric masterclass with ‘Raindance’. Here, intricate percussion and retrofuturist synth-scapes create an adrenaline rush of a track which could easily be the theme song from a lost 80’s action movie.

GREETINGS completes the release with ‘Time Is A Thief’, a bombastic trip to the Paradise Garage complete with piano stabs, a throbbing bassline and enough cowbell to cure any fever.

Buckle in for an orgasmic Italo trip, courtesy of Argentinian duo Furor Exótica. The result of a sweaty and shaky journey in their Buenos Aires studio, here they deliver two stir-crazy babies, crafted for dancing lovers worldwide.

The title track ‘Macchina Bum Bum’ builds energy gradually from minimal beginnings, adding spine-tingling vocoder vocals, shimmering synth melodies and a familiar sample as it builds towards a euphoric climax. Prime sunset material.

Meanwhile ‘Fractal’ is a hot and heavy chugger, with its throbbing bassline, trippy vocals, and euphoric synth melodies swelling and swirling together. You can practically smell the sweat on leather.

On remix duties, Donald’s House kick things off with a brilliant reimagining of ‘Macchina Bum Bum’, complimenting the vocals with a squiggly, wiggly, funky and propulsive retro-futurist instrumental. Just try not to throw your hands in the air when the synth melody comes in around the halfway mark! A certified stone cold banger, ready for peak-time deployment.

Bringing things home, label founders Kayroy and GREETINGS deliver a dreamy, psychedelic rework of ‘Fractal’. The vocals are transformed into a trippy, gated refrain, taking center stage alongside mellow, warm synth lines, and underpinned by a robust 808 kick. The track ends in a final crescendo, which should please dancers in a club or lovers in a broom closet alike.

Furor Exótica is an Argentinian ItaloDisco/House duo from Buenos Aires, formed in 2013 by the vocalist Viky O and the producer Ric Piccolo.

Since the project began, they have made numerous tours along America, Europe and Asia, playing in several clubs and festivals around the world.

The release kicks off with Comfy Soles, a sampladic journey into the heart of darkness. Blending the sinister and exotic, feverish percussion stumbles over a chugging bassline as a hungry machine emerges from the jungle. Second track Pizza Cut is a more light-hearted affair, as Meowsn’ puts a fresh spin on a familiar motif. A cheeky vocal loop is gymnastically flipped like a doughy base tossed in the air, constantly keeping you guessing with myriad detours and mysterious manoeuvres. The second half of the release begins with Ispanci, taking us into proper club territory. A thumping kick stoically underpins a weighty, rubbery groove. Watch out for a devious breakdown part way through, as the track sprawls out its electric legs, disintegrating and re-materialising before your very eyes. Finally, closer Madao feels like a triumphant victory lap. It’s the start of a new era for the cobbers, as they present their first compilation of 100% original music. Cementing the label’s New Age Italo manifesto, these four tracks straddle neon-tinted nostalgia and sleek futurism. Sounds from yesteryear, for the dancefloors of tomorrow. 

This dichotomy is clear on opener ‘Silicon Horizon’, a propulsive banger from Kayroy which draws inspiration from the threshold of the digital age, evoking the rush of a nighttime race through city streets on a Tron bike. 

The anthemic ‘Make Italo Disco Great Again’ gives tune to the phrase brandished by DJs such as Skatebård. Romain FX faithfully celebrates the ongoing Italo legacy with appropriately tuneful synths and cheesy lyrics, courtesy of vocalists Guido Balboa & Annika. 

On the flip, German synth-wave fanatic Compilerbau delivers an atmospheric masterclass with ‘Raindance’. Here, intricate percussion and retrofuturist synth-scapes create an adrenaline rush of a track which could easily be the theme song from a lost 80’s action movie.

This dichotomy is clear on opener ‘Silicon Horizon’, a propulsive banger from Kayroy which draws inspiration from the threshold of the digital age, evoking the rush of a nighttime race through city streets on a Tron bike. 
 
The anthemic ‘Make Italo Disco Great Again’ gives tune to the phrase brandished by DJs such as Skatebård. Romain FX faithfully celebrates the ongoing Italo legacy with appropriately tuneful synths and cheesy lyrics, courtesy of vocalists Guido Balboa & Annika. 
 
On the flip, German synth-wave fanatic Compilerbau delivers an atmospheric masterclass with ‘Raindance’. Here, intricate percussion and retrofuturist synth-scapes create an adrenaline rush of a track which could easily be the theme song from a lost 80’s action movie.
 
GREETINGS completes the release with ‘Time Is A Thief’, a bombastic trip to the Paradise Garage complete with piano stabs, a throbbing bassline and enough cowbell to cure any fever.
