So this was my first real remix. Since its release a year ago i've gone back and attempted to fix a few things.. but in hindsight its kind of a mystery how this came together, and everytime i've tried   its been like a hectic game of jenga and if I touch one thing the entire project falls over.

having said that I actually still really like this track and still listen to it often. I think i'll never delete this off my soundcloud so I can look back one day and have a laugh and remember where it all began.

Maybe I should have called this track Black Rob - Like Whoa! vs Jenga Jenga - Fall Over...

I used this instead of creating my own trap instrumental from scratch cuz I wasn't really at a point in my career where I was capable of that - but I knew exactly what kind of track I needed to make the bpm transitions work, and this fitted in perfectly.

Ever since I first heard this track I knew it was going to be huge... Party Favor really nailed it as he pretty much always does and I decided it was the perfect track for a vocal edit. After playing around with a few, I was finding it REALLY hard to choose the perfect one - so I was like fuck it, and used em all.

A few of the acas sounded pretty dirty but I did my best to clean em up for you, the one that probably sticks out a little to my ears still is Dre's 'nuthin but a G thang' but the sample was just too good to leave out.

Drop It Like Its Hot (Booty Clap 92 - 100bpm Edit)

over the years a lot of producers have tackled 'Sandungueo'.
the more recent and memorable versions IMHO are of course Munchi's 108bpm Moombahton backbreaker that most of the new versions are based on, Morrison's Baltimore Bootleg which i've treasured for a long time, and the Mozes Retwerk - a new favourite of mine.

This edit is a combination of the latter 2; Morrison's version mixed into the Mozes Retwerk - but I wanted to include Munchi and use him for the cover too, being the originator of Moombacore, an inspiration to many, and an instigator for a whole new wave of Sandungueo remixes and edits.

This edit was designed with the intention of changing it up from house to either twerk or moombah, 105bpm sits perfectly between the 2 so take your pick.

YO it's finally here!! The much delayed 2nd instalment of my favourite mixtape.. 

IT'S A TRAAAAAPPPPPPP 

I recorded this using my Pioneer DJM900nexus and 2 CDJ1000mkII's ... to be honest they are loosing their timing and display the wrong bpm most of the time so I just mixed this by ear (as anybody that calls them self a DJ should...) there is one or 2 slight beat matching errors towards the end of the tape (sorry) but I feel the integrity of the whole tape is still very strong. looking back in retrospect some of the harmonics are incompatible.. suppose this just gives me more drive to kill it for volume 3 :) I am such a perfectionist that it kills me to upload a tape with ANY errors or any transitions that im not 100% happy with (namely the train wreck out of thrift shop into Floss's ROLLUP) but Im just too pumped to get this out there to go through re-recording again

The last 2 tracks are more for the hip hop orientated die hard trap fans than the festival crew as I wanted to include something for everyone. I had to be really ruthless with my track selection for this tape, as its been 6 months since the last edition. There were A LOT of my favourite bangers that didnt fit the overall feel I was going for so I still have heaps of bombs in the bank... Volume 3 and 4 are already in planning :)

As a final note I wasn't happy with the clarity of Volume 1 and my other recordings so I upped the quality setting to maximum for deeper, heavier bass and crisper harder hitting snares n claps ^_^ sorry if it takes a while to download... the difference is worth it tho :)

and yo at the end of the day I just hope these tapes reach some ears and you like these beats. I put a lot of passion into this shit and it would mean a lot to hear sum feedback from you guys out there who listen regularly.
