Delete makes his EP debut at Get Physical Debut with My Own Nightmare. A darkly collection of dirty, raw beats and sublevel booty bass: ripe for hot and heavy dancefloors the world over. My Own Nightmare opens the EP with a dirty stepping bassline, coupled with straight claps and fat shakers creating a gritty groove right form the start. Worked vocals create depth and room in the mix as quick synths reverberate through the bass. 

A floating lead fills the air overhead with a sense of mystery and wonder. We move over to Slo-Mo Girl, an almost italo disco inspired piece, the down pitched vocal cuts and sporadic synth allow a driving beat to pull us into the groove. 

The last track is the Fur Coat Dark After Hour Mix of Slo-Mo Girl. This version brings the bass and leaves disco at home. Darker, and heavier, it demands an audience. The under the floor bass shakes your insides, as the melodies take over your mind. A great sense of unease is created through various synth effects and vocal cuts. Percussion drives track as the bass steers through the dark essence of Slo-Mo Girl.

TECH 149 – Document One – 7th Dimension

There's something about Document One's highly individual style which has resonated with DJs and ravers alike. Throughout 2016, their releases took up almost permanent residence at the top end of DnB download charts and in the sets of the most discerning selectors. They defined their own sound, culling elements from multiple genres and weaving them into dancefloor mayhem. And, if this release is anything to go by, they're going to do it all over again in 2017.

The ethereal horns and vocal sample in the intro set the scene, building an edge of tension. It's got all of that smoky moodiness that Document One can deliver, combining tech darkness with a jazz sensibility. Delicate hints of percussion mark the way, and there's still no hint as to whether we're heading towards laid-back cool or road-hard savagery in the drop. It's Document One, after all, and they can do either.

The eponymous MC sample gives us the signal. And the atmosphere is ripped asunder by the arrival of crisp drums and a pulsating, irresistible bassline. Its stripped-back production gives those core sounds the chance to really make their presence felt. And when the vocals ride over the top, it all comes together to make complete skank-out sense. This is a roller that's going to do some serious damage in the rave. 

Altogether, this track takes us on a tour of the multiple facets of the sound Document One have marked out for themselves. It's got the tech percussion and sample programming, a hip-hop edge, that hint of jazz in the horns and undisputed funk energy in the bass. Simultaneously heavy and subtle, this is proof that the Doc One style is ready and able to make even greater strides in 2017.

In 2016, Document One showed us that they've got their own way of doing things. Equal parts of hip-hop, tech, funk and jazz combine into a flavour that's got musicality, individuality and, always, dancefloor energy. No wonder we've all got used to seeing their name at the pinnacle of the DnB download charts and in the setlists of most of the scene's top DJs. So, is it more of the same for 2017?

Well, the intro of “The Rhythm” might suggest that we're going down a more chilled route. We're in a reverberant, almost dubby soundscape, as stabs and percussive hits echo in the background while a dialogue sample tells us about the philosophy of rhythm. There's that Document One staple in those hints of brass, but, really, there's no sign of what this track is about to deliver.

There's certainly no indication of the utter filth we're about to be dropped into. Pounding, heavyweight drums stomp any chill-out vibes into oblivion. Meanwhile a gritty, serrated bassline cuts through the atmosphere with its edge of distortion. Document One's productions have always been hard, but “The Rhythm” takes things to another level. This is going to take some heads off whenever it's dropped.

So, it seems that Document One have still got more up their sleeve than they've shown up to now. The crisp cleanness they've demonstrated in previous releases has been supplemented by all-out aggression. If these producers are starting 2017 off with this level of militant violence, then who knows where they might take things next? Better pay close attention.

Our "Magnolia" EP is that beautiful like the blooming flower itself, as this release is coming with lovely melodies and a pumping groove. As remixer Jannowitz presents Tony Casanova from Stil vor Talent, who is taking out his crown and generated an amazing recipe w. Berlin style sounds to his remix.

On the other hand "Balala" is going into full strength, as we have international power out of Tokio in our lovely bag.

Sudo, well known from his release on SCI + TEC is taking over the minimal part this time with his fabulous remix.

Our Duo Danito & Athina (Light My Fire) are completing our remixes of "Balala, in a full techno interpretation. Quiete unusual for them, but they did their job on point.

Also, we are celebrating the peculiarity of this release, as
Each Remixer isn´t only a producer, but also a "live act" what makes every gig something very unique and special.

The artwork is again very extraordinary and designed by Köfi, our true tattoo artist from the famous „AuberSubjekt Factory“ Collective.

As one of our most beloved Dirtybird Players, Justin Martin travels the world week in and week out putting smiles on people's faces, always with an even bigger grin of his own. With his sophomore album, 2016's "Hello Clouds", Justin proved that it's more than just fun and games – he's a seriously talented producer. 

His songwriting skills were on display with unique vocalists Charlotte OC, FEMME, and Lena Cullen, and his production chops were flawless on his solo tracks and collaborations with Kill Frenzy, Will Clarke, Ardalan and his brother Christian Martin.

Hello Clouds debuted at #1 on the iTunes Dance chart and Beatport's album chart, and hit #15 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums Chart the week after its release; these stats are a testament to the brilliance of the album and the way its diverse sounds resonated with fans both old and new.

While it can be argued that the original album was largely for listeners, there's no doubt that the Hello Clouds remixes are squarely aimed at DJs and dance floors the world over. Justin hand-picked the twelve artists who he thought would best reinterpret his work and, as with the original album, he's knocked it out of the park here.

Fellow Dirtybird Ardalan's epic version of the title track diverges from the basement vibes of Jakwob's mix, while the Christian Martin collab "Midnight" sees a new day courtesy of both party-starters Soul Clap and life-of-the-party Doorly.

Justin opened his Campout set with Walker & Royce's explosive mix of "The Feels", which also gets reworked by UK hero Low Steppa, and UK also gets another representation with Redlight’s mix of “Wet Cat"

South Africa's Kyle Watson turns the moody "Odyssey" into a peak-time monster, while Little By Little gives us both a vocal and dub mix of the equally sultry "Rabbit Hole." Fresh-faced producer Lenny Kiser leaves his mark on the Charlotte OC single as well. 

Rounding out the package is a bona fide jungle remix of "Back to the Jungle" by the drum-n-bass icon DJ Marky, along with a massive remix of the same tune from the one and only Chris Lorenzo.
