“Maybe it’s Love” tells us a beautiful indie story. The hyper positive melody is carried by a perfectly balanced rhythm, interspersed by FX straight out of the 80’s. Love is in the air ?

The break & dance hit "I don't know", hyper grooving and festive, is enhanced by the voice of the vocalist Neburo, making the track more intimate and giving it a New Wave touch.

Bordello A Parigi is on the hunt once again, this time journeying to southern France to unearth an up and coming sect of synthesizer sorcerers: Blind Delon. Hailing from Toulouse, the triumvirate of Mathis Kolkoz, Théo Fantuz and Coco Thiburs offer a sound that combines indie and wave with seemingly effortless execution. The soft interlude of “Sometimes” introduces Assassin. A groove grips pulsing rhythms, subtle strings and throaty vocals in the captivating “Sombre Soleil”. Those vocals become even deeper in the dreamy “J’ai Honte”. Smoke spirals around keys in this brooding work of guitars rifts and bruised egos. The title piece perfectly melds warm strings with cold synthlines for a superb climax to an EP that exudes modern synth-wave chic.

Krakow based Olivia joins Pinkman with a modern twist on ancient charming practices. "Dancing Snake" takes you to a surging tomb rave in the heat of the desert. The St. Petersburg-based label Avacha debuts on our platform with “999% HITS”, a vital 8-track compilation that amasses an interesting selection of domestic and not so domestic artists devoted to presenting the dark side of the contemporary music made both in Russia and the surrounding territories: Panorama Channel, Volta Cab, Wolfstream, White Magik, Soft Metal, Bogdan, Radial Gaze, and Olta Karawane spared no efforts to provide a proper showcase of their production skills, bringing together high standard pieces to enhance the importance of the VA release.

The track we were kindly solicited to review brings Kirill Rem aka White Magik depicting how disco mating with (good quality) early trance elements sounds. “Darkness” is definitely one of the highlights of the compilation. The intense synth layer and the vocal hooks led us into a journey through White Magik’s world: “Esoteric metamodern dance music filled with love, stress, and release.”
