In this musical hodgepodge, you will encounter exuberant and also pensive Italo, enriched with Synth (Wave), Disco, Canzone Napoletana, Freestyle, Hi-NRG, Dork-Pop, and whimsical covers. Not too much actual spookiness is included, but you may find one song fitting the season like a glove 🦇  If you are a real veteran of Italo Disco, you might not deem all songs to be actually super unheard of, so try to take the title with a skosh of salt.

THE 80S 1 MORE TIME

In 1983 Tânia Alves released the album Novos Sabores. On it is Hauacharahu, a track that blends indigenous and Portuguese lyrics. I’ve extended it by adding a DJ-friendly intro and outro, repeated chores, stem separation, plus a few extra loops here and there.

George Hysteric of Upside-Down Canada (Australia) recorded us jamming away Italo crap whilst drunk at Bambi's last October in Toronto, Canada. This is my vinyl set, and yes ... I always seem to play the same records. Yikes! I swear I own more than 50!

Italoconnection is the result of over twenty years of friendship and occasional creative meetings between two electronic underground scene agitprops in Milan. Fred Ventura and Paolo Gozzetti produced, arranged and mixed a host of dancefloor tracks in their individual careers with great continuity and clarity of intent.

Since 2010 they decided to join forces and give more continuity to their electronic raids using the pseudonym Italoconnection. The aim is to revive the glories of the early ’80s Italo Disco in a modern form. The Human League, Hurts, Ou Est Les Swimming Pool, Raffaella Destefano and Flabby are just some of the artists who have had Italoconnection rework.
