Producer, DJ, and keyboardist born in Naples in 1985 — a time when the city was living a vibrant cultural transformation that continues to shape his musical identity. Growing up in an era marked by the revolutionary energy of artists like Pino Daniele, the cinematic poetry of Massimo Troisi, and the electrifying presence of Diego Maradona, Lopez absorbed a unique blend of deep-rooted tradition and bold innovation. That same spirit of contrast and evolution defines his work today.

He emerged as a jazz-funk keyboardist within Naples’ eclectic live scene, gradually developing a distinctive style of composition and arrangement grounded in groove, melody, and cross-cultural exploration. A six-year stint in Geneva exposed him to the city’s underground club culture and to the new wave of the Cosmic/Balearic movement, leading to the creation of his first two albums — Palinuro Phonebox (2020) and Chalet Miseno (2022) — both released on Horisontal Mambo, the label of Norwegian DJ and producer Prins Thomas, who also contributed remixes to his work.

Lopez’s background in electronics deepens his creative process, giving him a nuanced understanding of the tools he works with — from analog synthesizers to drum machines and effects units — and occasionally leads him to customize them in pursuit of new sonic possibilities.

His latest album, Sud des Îles (2025), released on Cosmic Romance and co-produced with Ed

Longo, is a concept album that combines his long-standing love for sailing, late-'80s aesthetics, and French boogie. It follows the

imaginary adventures of skipper Georges Taty and his crew of musicians as they travel the world by sea and sound. 

Lopez’s DJ sets channel the same spirit as his productions: sun-drenched, playful, and emotionally rich. Moving seamlessly between Mediterranean rhythms, tropical funk, French disco, and beyond, his performances invite listeners on a vivid journey through timeless summer memories and distant shores.
