Dream Of Future Love

Lately many of my thoughts have been turning to fall, and my musical style seems to be progressing with the seasons. On clear, sunny, cool days, the newly yellowed leaves on the birches in my yard are blown out of the tree and rain down, covering everything in soft yellow droplets. I hope to capture those moments in this song. When I finish my two most recent songs (this one included) and have made a couple more, I'll release an EP named after this song, Fallen Leaf. I love trip hop! When I was DJing on the playa this year I decided to go back to some of my really old favorites. you never hear enough trip hop on the playa. and then it seemed like the universe decided to support that decision, because as soon as I threw on a track by Kruder & Dorfmeister, this dude who was probably nearly 40 came straight up to me and thanked me for putting on some truly good trip hop. this inspired me to work a bit from my earlier musical roots and make some trip hop of my own. coming out soon!

Coriolis (WIP)

This came out of a track that I started making several years ago, which I then called Nautic. A few months ago, I dug through an external hard drive with backed up files on it, pulled this song out, and busted out a bunch of new work on it. Then I left it for a few more months, until tonight, when I finally decided to put up a preview of it to encourage myself to finish it. I haven't had a desk for a long while now, and thus haven't worked on music at all. But now I have one that I built myself, and I'm ready to create again! Resurrect it.

Borderland - Nautic Resurrection (work In Progress)

I've always wanted to learn Ableton Live, and am taking this time of sheltering in place to do so! Especially since the Live 10 Suite trial is for 3 months now. I used to use Reason 6.5 to make music. I know that Reason has gone through many updates and seems more powerful now than it used to be, but in retrospect it always felt really limiting. I've played with Live 10 for two afternoons now, and already, it feels much more free and expressive than Reason. I made this song with six tracks, each with relatively short loops, and then just jammed out the main structure of the song in session view. So cool! I can't wait to do more.
