Finally got a tape player to listen to all the tapes I had in storage and I'm finding some interesting stuff that never got digitized. This particular track is a demo I put on a mix tape to play in my car around the spring of 2001.

Made using some cheap drum machine, and a couple of guitar pedals (distortion and delay), and some tape recordings of infomercials and early 70s Sci-Fi.

Uploaded this a couple years ago, but took it down because the bass was way too high and just realized that I've had this version floating around since then but never uploaded it.

Before you can fully appreciate this track, you should probably know a little about PauntyWASTE. To put it as succinctly as possible: PW was basically a "concept band" I started back in 2000 — a sloppy and aggressively campy mix of The Cure, Pixies, The Shaggs, Flipper... and Ween meant to skewer the boy-band/pop-star dominated mainstream at the time, and the idea of cookie-cutter culture in general. Basically, Punk Rock... but "punk" was already included in that culture, so it had to step outside of that as well. This specific track was discovered while going through a box of 4-track tapes while trying to remaster my FUNeral DEPT. album (http://soundcloud.com/boredtodeaf/phase-iv). It was probably recorded some time during the winter of 00-01, which is when I started using a digital HD recorder, so this track probably just got lost in the transition.
