One day there, gone the next — nobody knew about the missing man's whereabouts but they could draw conclusions about the impetus. The wardrobe had been emptied, the dresser cleared, all photographs removed from the walls; it was as if all memory of him had been erased, as though he never even existed in the first place...

Following releases from label boss Bobby. and label mate N Gynn, London's Pleasure Club dive into the musical treasure troves of the early and mid 90s for their next instalment, a selection of tracks from Anthony Boninsegna AKA Nine-L. Originally released in '93 and '94 on the now defunct Islington-based label Metatone, the selected works, two of which have become highly sought after by collectors, present Boninsega's aptitude for producing deep, intricate and melodic house and electro.

KoraK (@david-vujnovi) is a young Croatian DJ born in Požega, based in Rijeka.
He first shows interest in electronic music in 2016 and has been digging tracks since then. Dave mostly plays a fusion of some house sub-genres, electro, breaks, ukg, but doesn't like to limit himself by genre.
Together with his friend he organises parties in Požega called ''Tanz'', with a goal to promote quality electronic music among young people.

If you’re into electronic music, chances are, you’re a fan of Kosta Athanassiadis, commonly known as XDB. The veteran DJ and producer has been consistently putting out beautiful music and making dancers move and sway for a long time, with a career in music spanning thirty years. With releases, on Metrolux, his own label, as well as Sistrum Recordings, Dolly, and Echochord, one would be surprised to find out that it wasn’t until 2020 that XDB put out a full-length LP when his genre-defying album “Inspiron” came out on Dial. But taking time to build up and do things properly seems to be Athanassiadis’s M.O., in regards to both releases and DJ sets. And today’s premiered track, a perfect slow-burner for warm-up sets, happens to be no different.

XDB truly goes back to his deep roots in a groovy remix of “GR2", commencing with a hypnotic synth line right at the track’s forefront, eventually taking a step back. Sharp high hats, synth stabs and snare drum rolls work together for the duration of the track to ensure that party attendees will be dancing. 

Athanassiadis’s remix comes as part of the “Dark Path” EP, the first release on the Deep Series (a Diaphan Music sub-label) since 2014. The EP will be out on vinyl on March 2, 2022, and will be released digitally on February 28, 2022.

Paul Wise aka Placid is the driving force behind ‘We’re Going Deep’ – a thriving online community and record label that keeps you coming back for more. Born out of a lifelong affair with the many shades of electronic rhythm and an obsession for collecting records since 1988, Paul is known and respected by many in the realms of underground House and Techno. Renowned for making hips and feet move at parties, clubs and fields across the UK and beyond over the last few decades.
As a label owner, his mission couldn’t be clearer - releasing new music for heads of all persuasions. Fresh cuts aimed squarely at the dance floor, front room or even just your headphones. Rather than staying too hung up on the past, he continues to serve up the freshest in  Acid, Electro, Techno, Deep House alongside sweet slices of Electronica. 

Sticking to the format of 4 superlative cuts from equally talented producers, the quality remains unquestionably consistent on Volume 8 of his various artist series. Kicking off A1 in style with a family affair from Acid House aficionado Affie Yusef and his daughter Leila, ‘Dublovr’ is a Class A slice of pure late night chug that rides clockwork rhythms to a rolling bassline. As dubbed out synths ring out to lift you skywards – eerie sweeping undertones add another dimension. Tried and tested since the summer season, the added layer of a TB-303 brings everything nicely to a head. Not to be outdone, Bristol based Electro emissary Zobol delivers a pure slice of machinist joy on A2 ‘Sense The Consesus’, showing his ability to finesse and balance uplifting melodies with warm synthesis on this finest of jams.

Over on the flipside, Maltese producer Acidulant takes up the reins with the hushed tones of ‘The View of Her Shade’ on B1 – a thoughtful excursion into electro hinterland that’s a textbook lesson in making more with less. Last but not least, mysterious I Love Acid affiliate Type-303 turns out an exquisite IDM inflected serving of woozy broken Electronica on the mysterious ‘Knowhere’. Steeped in rippling melodies and aquatic atmosphere, the depth of focus resonates with a singular clarity that enchants on repeated listening.

For the latest solo series edition, Paul reaches out to the talents of UK based songwriter and producer James Shinra, for a heavyweight 4 track EP of 303 fuelled excursions.  Hitting the floor head on with the muscular tones of “Jaunt” on A1 – punchy 808 percussion builds with jarring rave-etched synthesis, before rushing into the roar of a 303 grabs you by the scruff of the neck and unleashes a rolling groove that jacks hard until the twisted end. Do not be fooled by the calmer overtures of A2 “Venture”, Shinra unleashes another rolling 4 to the 4 floor workout. Balancing airy leads and shifting pads to precision programmed beats, the TB saws its way through to maximum frequency exposure over the course to brazen effect.

On the B-Side, B1 “WASP” takes control via deeper bass tones, squelching tweaks and A-A-Acid vocal chants, all paced at a solid mid-tempo groove that really brings things to the boil: just when you need it. Signing off with the stunning IDM inflected melodies of “Flexion” on B2 – Shinra shows his mastery of space and warmth with this beautifully balanced slice of Electronica that really is the icing on the cake.

James Shinra - WGD 12005 (WGD12005)

French producer, DJ and RDV (Recit de Voyage) label owner returns to the label this April with her ‘Thoughts Of Day’ EP, accompanied by remixes from Giegling’s Koreander and Fred P.
Since launching the RDV Music imprint in 2017, Molly has welcomed an array of up-and-coming talent and long-time respected figures in the contemporary house and techno scene onto the imprint, such as Dana Ruh, Cosmin TRG, Wbeeza, Aybee, Orion and many more. Here though, Molly steps into the spotlight herself with a new full-length EP for the label, the vinyl version features two originals and two remixes, while a further two originals will surface as bonus cuts on the digital release.
First up on the EP is the original mix of ‘ It Feels Like It Only Goes Backwards’, encapsulating Molly’s signature deep aesthetic via hazy atmospherics and swirling dub textures, floating atop a bouncy sub bass groove and swinging, organic drums. Kettenkarussel member Koreander’s ‘Final Relief Remix’ of ‘It Feels Like It Only Goes Backwards’ follows, offering an ambient twist on the original version, taking the hypnotic elements, and reshaping them into a murky, subtly unfurling six and a half minute beatless interpretation.
Next up on the flip side, Fred P reworks ‘Sweet Afternoon’, delivering a typically classy deep house cut driven by a choppy bass line, bright string stabs and crisp, bumpy drums. Molly’s ‘Mercure’ then completes the package, embracing a more groove driven feel as plucked bass notes, swelling subs, mesmerising synth flutters, and swinging drums develop in a subtly nuanced fashion throughout.
