'Gizmo' first landed in 2015 and is one of the many modern classics in the discography of the great German production outfit M.A.N.D.Y. It remains a firm dance floor favourite so is a perfect track to get some fresh new interpretations from contemporary talents. Morocco’s Amine K makes organic music that has a deep emotional connection and rich sense of melody. He is Oasis festival's resident DJ and has released on Bar 25, Akbar Music and Souvenir. Here he works with fellow Moroccan talent Yahya, who has a similarly enchanting sound. Their take on 'Gizmo' is colourful and melodic, with enchanting keys and shuffling drums overlaid with exquisite acoustic melodies and real North African soul. 

Chris Schwarzwälder's distinctive style of deep, restrained House has made him a Berlin mainstay. His solo sounds are at home on the likes of Denature Records and Katermukke, while he also collaborates with Mira and is part of the experimental project Feathered Sun. On this remix, he cuts loose with his favourite synths and layers in flashing stabs, undulating chords and tense, textured leads. They keep you locked into the late-night melodic tech for the whole atmospheric duration. Minaday is a brand new artist who makes a fantastic impression here. The excellent remix is alive with bubbling xylophone melodies and inviting organic drums. String sounds add a tropical atmosphere during the breakdown and take you to a place of real and rare house beauty. 

These are three fantastic interpretations that take 'Gizmo' in fascinating new directions.

Senso boss Oliver Huntemann first released the original version of Magnet in 2011 as a part of his Paranoia LP on Ideal Audio. A few years later, Brazil’s leading underground techno light Victor Ruiz reworked the track into an unofficial bootleg, which since had been rinsed by Ruiz, Huntemann and a slew of top DJs around the world. Such was its effect on the dance-floor, it’s now finally receiving an official release via Senso in a slightly updated version. The track itself is a lesson in tough, driving techno - unrelenting in its mission, yet infused with layers of subtlety and deeply funky beeps, squelches and effects. It’s a machine-funk monster, and it’s easy to see why the bootleg clocked up over 225,000 listens on Soundcloud.

Senso Sounds roars back into life with another double from the label’s main man, Oliver Huntemann. Continuing the incredible output on the label this year, Huntemann sets his sights on two opposing poles, north and south. Nordpol transmits an icey atmosphere, razor sharp synths cutting through the mix over a muscular bassline and Huntemann’s trademark precision-hard drums. Südpol starts out as the deeper of the two, but retains a steely backbone - pulsing and driving its way through the speakers, slowly working up into an all out techno-frenzy. Two huge tracks that standout from the masses - as always with the Senso Sounds stable.
