I took distance with everything, creative pressure, image, social media, and focus on my biological rhythm, Nature, what is important. I am more balanced and inspired.

🗯🗯 How did you prepare this mix and what was your main inspiration? 🗯🗯

As I downloaded less music, I played the latest purchases and old ones I rediscovered, driven by the energy of rebirth and optimism when we'll all meet again.

🗯🗯 Did you have a mentor? 🗯🗯

My grand father. He was a coming drawer, and chose a humble path far from the spotlight to privilege a quality of life. He taught me everything, from riding a bike to swim, to travel.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ ROLANDO

Rolando grew up in south west Detroit, a Hispanic district, he was heavily influenced by his cultural Latin rhythms and percussion. Inspired from an early age by his musician father, he pursued his own interest in music and became well known and respected within the community. It was later when he heard Jeff Mills in 1985 as "The Wizard" that he discovered the innovative sounds of Techno. Through a mutual friend he was introduced to Mike Banks and joined Underground Resistance in 1994. 
2014 he launched his own label R3 ( Roland Rocha Records ) and will exclusively release his own music on his label. 
Rolando now a Dj for almost thirty years continues to work internationally as a Dj and continues to hold a residency at the notorious and enigmatic Berlin club Berghain; as of 2016 he will also be a resident at the lauded and Seminal Parisian Rex Club.

Helsinki-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer Kiki, debuted in 2001 with “Gas 126” single, but not before he had spent nearly a decade DJing including gigs at some of Berlin’s most significant venues (including residency at Tresor). 

Released on Ellen Allien’s BPitch Control, his first 12” initiated a long affiliation with the label that saw roughly a dozen subsequent singles, 2 full length albums (2004 “Run With Me” and 2009 “Kaiku” including  the huge hit “Good Voodoo”) and the 1st installment in the DJ mix series Boogybytes through the end the decade, as well as the 1st mix compilation for the Melt! Festival. 

Co-productions with Silversurfer (aka Siopis) were spread across on Crosstown Rebels (including the 1st release on the label of Damian Lazarus), BPitch, Get Physical, Exploited and Mood Music. Further collaborations with Joyce Muniz, Raxon, Anja Schneider, Smash TV, Sasse, Robbie Akbal and numerous remixes have given more color to his discography. 

His work has spanned nearly the entire spectrum of electronic dance music incorporating electro, minimal techno, the giddy energy and bright melodies of italo disco and even soft-hued IDM. He has been playing gigs all over the globe from Europe to Japan, Australia to USA, from Brasil to Madagascar and everywhere in between and the long-running radio show on Ibiza Sonica has cemented his skills as a A1 class selector.
