After a careful selection work and a remastering of Juanan Ros, from the studio El Cantón de la Soledad, Borja Ramos has presented Music for Performing Arts: a triple album that includes a selection of his works since 1998. Twenty years of music for the arts scenic, grouped according to their type of sound: electronic, acoustic or mixed. This is an excerpt of the third and final volume, dedicated to their mixed works, created by combining traditional instruments and electronic tools.

The Spanish composer Borja Ramos was born in Barakaldo in 1973. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Valencia, while he began to discover electroacoustic music at the LEA-CSMV. He deepens his training with composers such as José Manuel Berenguer, Jorge Antunes and Jean-Claude Risset. This multidisciplinary learning will mark his eclectic style, which draws from the sources of popular music and cultured music, and addresses both electronic music, written music and improvisation.

He started composing for contemporary dance in 1998, with the choreographer Damián Muñoz and the Ultima Vez company interpreter, Germán Jauregui. Since then, he has created the music of more than sixty choreographies and theater plays, as well as contemporary works and soundtracks for feature films such as Nos Miran (2001) or Frágil (2004), with his teacher Bingen Mendizabal, or for the documentary Perpetual Motion (2013), directed by Isaki Lacuesta. He has also collaborated with Basque singers Mikel Laboa, Ruper Ordorika and Mikel Urdangarin.

He has composed for some of the most important Spanish choreographers, highlighting his continued work since 2007 with Cesc Gelabert: The opening of the Grec Barcelona International Festival 2011 with La muntanya al teu voltant; Foot-Ball, co-produced by FC Barcelona; and more recently Écrit dans l’air, in collaboration with the playwright Valère Novarina. For this work he won the Barcelona Critics Award.
