Introducing the Brazilian Acuna to our label for the first time with his brand new single “Don’t Stop” (Feat. MC Spyda). Formerly part of Critycal Dub, Acuna has been building up a solid catalogue of releases with slapping basslines on Chronic and V Recordings of late. You only have to listen to “Get High” with our family member A Little Sound to hear the carnage an Acuna chorus can cause.

Linking up with the legendary MC Spyda – a man responsible for vocals on hits including “Balaclava” with SHY FX and D Double E and “All Ganja Man” with Serum – there’s no doubt in our minds that “Don’t Stop” is going to be certified anthem we hear throughout clubs and festivals this year.

It may be a new year, but we’re kicking things off in the same fashion we ended 2022 – showcasing wicked new talents who are destined to light the scene up. Introducing Klimate to Born On Road, a young producer with a knack for making heavy basslines – the same ones you will have heard us dropping throughout 2022. We’re gassed to have him debuting on the label with his Rave Ting EP.

If you’re not familiar with Klimate, then these four tunes will give you a good sense of where the Surrey-born producer Is heading. From the naughty switches of “Rinseout” to the slick energy of the title track, Rave Ting is an EP encapsulating Born On Road’s love for productions that bring the heat in the rave.

Festival season is well and truly in full swing, so it’s only right to keep serving you bass shellers capable of lighting up any crowd. Our next release will do exactly that. Welcoming Rendah & Jakar to the label with something downright naughty. Two young, versatile artists who know how to create a hit (just look at Jakar’s bootleg of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Deja Vu”), we couldn’t be more excited to bring them into the Born On Road fold with “Get Lonely”. This one’s coming in like a missile. But what did you expect? They are from Bristol after all…

December is usually a time when everyone in the industry starts to wind down, but clearly Mandidextrous & Maddy V didn’t get the memo… Landing on Born On Road with our final single of the year, “Deep On This”, it’s a power link up combining Mandidextrous’s twisting basslines with Maddy V’s immense lyricism. Two artists who’ve both had big year’s respectively, this combo was always going to be a bit of a large Christmas gift. Slap it on your festive playlist for the family to enjoy.

The start of a new year inevitably brings many resolutions for change that are short lived. Well, we’re not about that at Born On Road. We’re going to start this year the same way we ended 2023 – with a fresh bassline to ignite the January dance. Our first release of the year comes courtesy of from Phibes – a duo we’ve been closely intertwined with over the years. “Man Come Back” is their new single, and it’s a bit of a whopper. The last time Phibes released on Born On Road was their “Just For Tonight” single back in 2022, so to see the boys back on the label with new music is pretty special. Happy New Year!

It’s always a beautiful day when Crossy drops off some new music at Born On Road HQ. The last time he did so was back in 2021 when he curated our Future Blends V/A album, providing us with the classic “Born On Road” anthem featuring the late Skibadee. While he may not have released often in the past, this year we’re going to see some exciting, consistent manoeuvres from Crossy – starting with the release of a new single. Featuring the vocals of Jman, and aptly titled “Detonation”, this single is destined to cause damage in the rave. Crossy loves a silly tune, pass it on.

As we motor deeper into 2024, our long-standing ambition to support the up-and-coming talents of the scene will not be wavering in the slightest. If anything, you’re going to see more new blood on the label than ever this year. One of them is 4K. Gully basslines, delicate liquid rollers – 4K loves dipping his toes in at different ends of the D&B spectrum (and doing it with class). We showcased his ability to do exactly this when he released his Not 4 The Industry EP with us a year ago. Now he’s back on the label with new single “Look For Me” featuring the vocals of Conni. It’s fair to say this one is some serious 4K gold

That’s exactly what Selecta J-Man and MC Spyda have cooked up with “Foundation Style”. Welcoming Cliques & Eksman to the label with new single “Buried”. They may not have released on Born On Road before, but we’re sure many of you know exactly what they’re capable of. Surely you’ve heard Eksman’s “MHITR (Semi-Automatic)” lyrics donning the rave? Or maybe you came across Cliques’ “Stay With Me” single on Elevate Records last month. Representing Gray not just as an artist who travels on road for a living with a USB in his hand, but also as a person whose journey has revolved around using music as a form of escapism from since day one, Digital Nomad is the truest presentation of Gray as an artist yet.

Summer is the season for shellers, and we’ve just received a nuclear weapon from our very own Carashelly. You may have heard this dub setting off levels in our sets recently. Introducing a special release from Kelvin 373, Selecta J-Man and Waeys. We all know what the first two familiar faces are capable of, but it’s a fresh debut on Born On Road for Waeys (which we couldn’t be more gassed for!) An artist with a reputation for creating intricate productions with whopping basslines – like his epic “Stopping Turning” track – he’s right at home alongside Kelvin 373 and Selecta J-Man. Our next single from Bennie is a dub that’s been in our arsenal for a while. Filled with the big soundscapes and heavy bass switches Bennie has grown a reputation for, “Drag Me Down” is a mega production from an artist who isn’t showing any sign of slowing down. This one follows on from Bennie’s last release on the label in March, when he treated us to the gully bassline of “Party Crasher” with Carasel.

There’s always something special about bringing through new drum & bass talent on the label. The feeling of supporting the next generation of the genre to flourish is something that has always motivated us, and will continue to do so! Our latest release is testament to this drive. Introducing two debutants to the label: Swaz, an up-and-coming artist who has impressed us with his early productions, and Spyda Jr – the son of one of Born On Road’s closest friends, MC Spyda, who is stepping into the D&B world with a swagger in his steps. Together, they enter the label with new single “Southside Resident”, a rolling beat carrying us into the upcoming club season with its catchy melody, hefty bass riff and slick lyricism. We’re gliding deeper into club season right now – the time of year when artists roll out hearty productions to warm up the colder months. OKO knows the drill, and she’s landing on Born On Road with her debut label single with us. “Been Busy” is the track, and keeping busy is exactly what OKO has been doing of late. One of the next wave of drum & bass producers shining through following singles on Soulvent, High Tea and Rinse, she’s teamed up with Grove and the ever familiar Rider Shafique to bring us something special. He’s an artist you can rely on to lay down a nasty bassline over a catchy melody, and his latest release “I Want U” is no different. They’re a duo we’ve admired in the scene for a long time, so we’re unbelievably gassed to reveal Document One are releasing their first solo single with Born On Road, “Spin Doctor”. An act known for their talented productions filled with playful basslines and immense musicality (just check out “Holy Moly” and “Cheap Shot”), Document one’s debut label release with us is no exception. A silly heater primed to light up clubs as the weather slips colder, this is a single we’ve been very excited to share with everyone. Spin it loud.

He’s the man with one of the most distinct styles in the drum & bass scene, and Refracta is back on Born On Road with new music. Last time he released with us was his “Slave to Sound” single back in 2024, and since then the artist has really found his groove releasing melodic, rolling drum & bass that cuts through the noise with intricate soundscapes. His latest single is called “The Other Side”, and it’s testament to an artist who spent years working away honing his sound before reaching a place where he could really let his creative vision run wild. This single is Refracta doing exactly that.

He cut his teeth though the free party scene in his hometown of London proving he has the minerals whist effortlessly mixing between styles.

Since moving to Bristol he has fully submerged himself into the circuit growing ever popular amongst ravers who have taken to joining in with the infectious vocals of his newly acclaimed anthem ‘Rubadub’, just one of the tunes off this heavyweight EP that has been doing major damage over the summer and is already turning the heads of some of the big players in the scene and it’s sub genres!

Gray has also enrolled the talents of two veterans of the scene, The Ragga Twins drop the lead line on Blood, a hard hitting bass heavy tune.

This EP is rammed packed full of goodness and comes with our certified Born On Road dance floor seal of approval, we are super hyped to welcome Gray as a member of our ever expanding family and we all look forward to working with him more in the future. Born on Road is a Bristol-based record label and DJ collective firmly rooted at the heart of drum and bass and jungle’s underground music scene. Since being established in 2013, we’ve built a reputation as an eclectic outfit known for pushing good music. It doesn’t matter if it’s jungle, jump up, ragga or some sublime vocal work, if we vibe with it then we’ll champion it to the masses.

This is an attitude born from our history in the underground music scene, where the free-flowing energy of sound system culture formed the foundations of the label’s all-inclusive ethos. It’s the reason why we’ve quickly grown into a sprawling music family who all support one another’s careers. From stage takeovers at festivals including Boomtown and Glastonbury, to signing the most exciting homegrown talents, Born on Road are always looking for ways to drive forward the underground scene, along with the artists inside it.

We may be a new wave music label, but we adopt the old school approach of putting the music first before anything else. This journey has been an eventful one so far, but there’s still plenty more to come on the road ahead.
