Neither of us have tattoos nor hair on the chest, though we have been told that these are essentials to survive in our business. Luckily we have great friends with both tattoos and hair on the chest to give us advise when things are tough. One of these advisers once told us, that the first release often ends up completely different from the original idea, due to the fact that one has so many expectations... All these imaginations. 
Combined with perfectionism, one ends up spending too much time on details and the original idea disappears - this is a shame! To avoid this (unnecessary) "first-time-nervousness", we chose to start out with something as silly (to us at least), but classic, as a different version of "Bug a Boo" by Destiny's Child.
As a matter of fact, did you know that Beyoncé, LeToya, LaTavia and Kelly Rowland did exactly the same thing in the making of their single. Try listening to the original "Bug a Boo"- single and you will find clear references to Toto's classic from 1978 "Child's Anthem".

Time passes fast when you are having fun - no doubt about that. A lot of things have happened since our release of 'Bug A Boo (Borneland Remix)'; New studio, new projects, EP coming up and endless hours recording, mixing and hanging out ... and then suddenly we found ourselves in the middle of something. Psychologists and doctors would maybe characterise this as a product of imagination or dreams coming true. You might already guessed it just by the title of the mix, but in case you haven't: we found ourselves in the middle of something we had experienced before, also known as a deja vu. When we listened to this track, the temptation was just too big - it was irresistible.

A Deja Vu is the sensation that an event or experience has been experienced before, however, what characterises a deja vu is that you have not actually experienced it before - it just feels very familiar. This release is not something you have seen or heard before, but we hope you will enjoy our 'Deja Vu (Borneland Remix)', just as much as you enjoyed our first meeting with Mrs Knowles.

Déjà vu, (/ˌdeɪʒɑː ˈvuː/) from French, literally "already seen before", is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced or has been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not.

This is a remix we could not resist to make. We were instantly in love, when we first heard the original, it had it all: catchy melody, sound of something real and a epitome feel of summer. And then it had something more: Ena's magical vocal. Actually, we have known Ena for countless years, she is a skilled copenhagen based dj, who we have been flirting with a long time. You may know her as well, from the track 'Feed the Horse' from Fagget Fairys. But now she is out with her first solo project.

The first single from Ena is called 'Deep Seas', and is originally produced by Pato and Lasse Lyngbo from White Pony. And with help from Martin Sandberg on bass and Chllngr on saxophone, the track was quickly one of the most played tracks on the danish national radio P3 with a recognition as "unavoidable of the week" – However, this had no importance for us, since we had already received the remix parts before that happened.

We have said it before, and now, we’ll say it again: we love acoustic bass, our synthesizer and absolutely cannot deny a strong vocal. Our earlier mixes of Beyoncé have all had great success and not only because we twisted it, but because a strong vocal gives the track an edge. It may seem trivial and at the same time we just could not help it, when this track reoccurred in our minds.
“It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay” – Whitney has got it. With the risk of touching something sensible, we started the process with this track and the more we got into it, the more we loved it. This is not only a tribute to simplicity, this is also an applause to Whitney as a singer and the great role she has played in music during our lifetime. Not many singers can do what she actually did – even with a classic twist of “the Borneland sound” on this remix, she actually still carries the track all the way through.

This is our first release as Borneland, it's not a remix or bootleg, it is entirely our own! To create the perfect foundation for the track, we combined the magic of the classic Rhodes piano, Prophet 08 synth and the SH-101 characteristic sub bass. The instruments show our differences and our individual strengths, while the acoustic violin by Andreas Birk and soulful vocals by Line Gøttsche is the soft, edgy twist - like the cherry on top. This track symbolises the simplicity in life and the mind blowing love for the person you just cannot get out of your head.

It will be released today on the record label Music For Dreams, with the legendary frontman Kenneth Bager behind the scene. It is available on all digital platforms and will also be in a limited edition vinyl in a few carefully selected record stores - for the lucky ones. As the icing of the cake; we have a package of remixes coming soon with some of our favourite artists interpretation of the track.

It's obvious, so we might as well admit it; we love Patawawa. Their sound, vibe and especially the vocalist with a British edge that will stay with you in long time. So when they asked if we would give an interpretation of their latest release ‘Fly’, we could not resist; we had to say yes.

But a remix of something you already compare yourself with - how do you do that? We gave ourselves the challenge to make the same track, but with our studio equipment and approach. So we just kept the vocal recorded our signatur acoustic bass, guitar, synth sounds on our Proheth 08 added with our beloved beat samples. This is our take on a track we already loved.

It may sound like a blind date that ended unsuccessful, but it isn't. A friend of ours would like us to meet his friend, the young skilled producer Louis Petri. He had set us up for a reception at the office of the SONY sub label Sound of Copenhagen. Louis never showed up, but we never left empty-handed; instead we got introduced to his debut track and after quickly falling in love with it, we got the remix parts home with us. This is the result of how a date ended up quite good anyway.

We have been wanting to do a Drake cover for a while, so when New York-based produced Sebastian Sartor suggested a co-lab on a track featuring Drake, we where instantly up for it. We took the song from PartyNextDoor and turned up the bpm and clubbed the whole thing up by adding a heavy base-line. We also paired the lyrics from Rihanna’s Work with the track. We are thrilled with the result and about working with Sebastian. Hope you guys like the result as well.

The song encompasses the signature sounds of both Borneland's melodic synths and Falcon Punch's more organic guitar and organ tones. The blend creates a lush mixture of soul, deep house and melodic disco all coming to a head through an uplifting saxophone breakdown.
