Born of June is a Cape Town based Indie Rock band. 

The band is made up of 3 members, Akeeda keet (Vocalist and writer), Dayaan Abarder (Electric guitarist) and Andre Williams (Bassist and acoustic guitarist) 

The Indie band made their first appearance as an opening act for local artist Larry Joe in 2012. 
They then went on to perform on multiple stages and platforms around Cape Town, namely, Hectic99, The Odyssey fashion project, Peroni sponsored first Thursdays, The Cape Town Festival, The water shortage comedy tour, KFM, Goodhope FM as well as private and corporate events. 

The band also enjoys participating in various open mics around Cape Town, namely, the House of Machines and Raw Open mic nights as well as hosting private events so as to better engage with their audience. 

Born of June is an eclectic mixture of Indie/Alternative and old school rock and their haunting melodies and lamenting vocals are nothing short of inspiring.
