Born of the Stars - EP 2012

Born of the Stars is a solo music project created by Michael Kushner that blends the genres of alternative rock, progressive metal, melodic metal, and post-rock.

The name “Born of the Stars” was chosen to reflect Michael’s love for science and was inspired by one of his favorite quotes:

“The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of star stuff.” -  Carl Sagan

Born of the Stars is a solo music project created by Michael Kushner that blends the genres of alternative rock, progressive metal, melodic metal, and post-rock.

Michael writes all of the music and lyrics, performs and programs all of the instruments, does all of his own mixing, mastering, and production, and creates the album art for each Born of the Stars release.

In 2012 Michael released the debut self-titled EP “Born of the Stars” which featured clean vocals, heavy melodic guitar riffs, driving drum beats, and elements of post-rock and electronic sound design.

In 2014 Michael released a follow-up EP titled “Let Go” which featured six full length songs.

Michael is currently in the studio working on new music for an upcoming release.
