My Foolish Heart (demo)

Jamie Odell (aka @Jimpster)is one of the most revered house producers/DJs on the scene. His labels @freerangerecords and @delusionsofgrandeur continue to help break incredible new music which he brings to his DJ sets across the globe.

Ahead of his gig this Friday 4/28 at Sunnyvale in Brookyn with RNT co-boss @JKriv and @johnbarera, he ran off an hour of dusty boogie and Brazilian rare groove, gradually building into driving deep house,  percussive rhythms and hands-in-the-air disco vibes. Get into it!

soul, turn orange-colored is broken up in to five distinct sections that are to be played attacca. The title for this piece comes from Federico Garcia Lorca’s poem Ditty of First Desire. The piece is structured around the different verses in poem and the verses are included in the score as the title of each section.

The legendary collective Clan Analogue collective celebrate 25 years of independent Australian electronic music-making in 2017 with the release of their 50th record, the new compilation album Coordinate: Collaboration Beyond the Algorithm (CA050).

Already hugely respected for their diverse and innovative compilation albums, Coordinate: Collaboration Beyond the Algorithm sees Clan Analogue take their most unusual approach yet towards putting together a release. Fifty electronic and experimental music artists from Australia and overseas registered to take part in the Coordinate project, each one paired up to collaborate with artists they had never met before. Their only instructions were to move outside stylistic comfort zones and to respond to the theme ‘beyond the algorithm’.

We welcome him to our Dimensions mix series with an offering that saunters through 60 minutes of classic house selections and soulful, dance-floor-leaning tracks that are as at home powering through our headphones and they would be in the club.

[Artist Bio]
Deep inside Montreal's underground Claire concocts her unique sound. Her style encompasses shades of techno, micro-house, Romanian and silky-smooth minimal grooves: deep, trippy, and sensual with deep chords, mysterious whispers, and low-slung funk. Some call it Soul Techno; sounds meant to wake up some goosebumps and feelings you weren't aware of until now.

The daughter of a violinist and a mad scientist, Claire played violin and bass guitar before discovering electronic music. A DJ for over 15 years, she has established herself as a key player in the Canadian electronic music community. This has brought her to events and venues like MUTEK, Igloofest, Air (Tokyo), Garorock, the Techno Parade (Paris), Bass Coast Festival, Piknic Electronik , and Club der Visionaere. 

She developed her sound during a 9 year residency at Laika Montreal. She now has a monthly night at cultural institution Salon Daome. She immersed herself in conceptual late night fantasies with Blackbox Montreal, a series of nomadic dance parties that played host to the likes of Akufen, Mike Shannon, DoubtingThomas, Alicia Hush, Frivolous, and more. She has shared the stage with some of her favourite artists: Magda, Sonja Moonear, Ellen Allien, Maayan Nidam, DeWalta, Yokoo, Noze, and Tipper. In Chile she even did an impromptu b2b with Sonja Moonear at the afterparty for Piknic Electronic Santiago!

Following the release of her 2012 album Under A Midnight Moon on Archipel, Claire has been making regular trips to Europe with forays into Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Japan. She has an ever-growing discography: two vinyl EPs: Monoclap 06 which includes a LoSoul Remix, and Univers Parallele on Conceptual Records (2017). After taking a little bit of time to welcome and nurture her daughter Kyoko who is now 2 years old, she is back and has a remix—2012 (Claire’s Psychedelic Space Remix) out on Icewax Oct 2019, and an upcoming EP on Hushlamb March 2020.
